Looking to Buy a Larger First Busse for CHEAP

If the B10 is big enough for you, I think you would be thrilled with one. If you want bigger, go B11. I like the B10 handle better, B11 choil better, but B10 has optional choilless. The B10 is a lot more versatile, but the B11 has a lot more power. They are both great users.

You could also save a lot by going with a Scrapyard 711, 911, 1111, or 1311 in SR101.

I still have most of my larger stuff if you want comparison pics.

I'm in the same boat as jj1998. I want something I could use and the "combat grade Anniversary Straight Handle Battle Mistress" would be something I would most likely put away in a safe - it's just too pretty for me to use...

Come on pkng if a ASHBM is within your budget, get it and and go beat it :D you only live once.

Dwayne - A little unfair to say 'civil engineer' is an oxymoron. 'Social scientist' I could probably agree on. ;)

As a civil engineer, I take offense to that! :thumbdn: Just kidding, good try on that one though! haha I am a civil person!......At least I think I am:o

:D :D :D I do like social scientist! And yea, I was wondering about civil engineer when I found it on a list of oxymorons, I'll concede that one. :p But I will add Wealthy Craftsman. :)

My father was a mechanical engineer, being socially competent was not his forte. I guess all school and no life make for an "interesting" person. :p

1311 from the yard can be had for much less than $300 with a good kydex sheath. I wanted a NMFBM, but that may or may not ever happen. I can say I am more than pleased with the 1311, and it started my love of SR-101 and from there, INFI.

If you do not want to spend ~ $500 for an ASHBM and still want INFI steel, then look for a Basic 9, 10 or 11. If non-INFI is OK, then Scrap Yard and Swamp Rat have some good choices. Keep your eye on the For Sale forum here.

Now I will agree with you there Dwayne, a lot of engineers are very reserved and not very social. Civil? Well I hope so, but social? Not so much....:D

Jim, are you going to come back, and tell us a little more about what you are looking for and what your budget is?

I can't believe nobody has mentioned the soon to be released Basic 8 yet!!!!

C'mon Boss...we have a man in neeeeed!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

I was looking for something like an ASH or any of the Battle Mistresses user but I was only looking to spend like $200 now that I know there are never really Busses that cheap I will either have to expand my budget or look for something cheaper product.

Thanks for all the responses
Jim

Scrap Yard 1111 or 1311 can be had for very close to 200.00 without a sheath (+50-75 depending on your patience). They are awesome blades, well worth considering.

Possibly the best value large fixed blade out there...

An incredible knife. Awesome steel and great ergonomics.

I agree with this 100%. If you are looking for something like a mistress for about $200, the 911 is a perfect fit, readily available, top quality steel with Busse heat treat.

That is a dogfather right beside the CGFBM, but it is practically identical to a 911 in a different steel.
