Looking to buy an EDC folder

I definately agree with hardheart on the Sharpmaker as it is hard to screw up a sharpening using it. I would also like to suggest the Kershaw line of Zero Tolerance folders, specifically the ZT0200. Check www.newgraham.com. You can get both for $200 or a little under. The ZT's are built with rugged use in mind and they are built tough. The 0200 has thick hardened steel liners, a 3.75" 154CM blade, and sculpted G-10 scales. It also has the option of right hand carry/left hand carry, along with tip up or tip down. Give it a looksee, you might just like it!:):D

BTW, just checked the prices. You can both the items I've mentioned for $175, plus shipping.

lol, yeah, I recommended the sharpmaker with a spyderco knife to complement, then deleted it when I saw you didn't like the holes.

I prefer Benchmade. The axis lock is my fave, so the griptilian, 710, presidio, rukus, etc. You might like the nitrous stryker, or something in the H&K line, like the 14200.

Benchmade as a recommendation for Company. Gotcha. I liked the look of the axis lock too, so I always had that in the back of my mind.

Thanks for your help everyone. Great forum, great people. Need more people in the world like you guys. :D

Crap one last question. Which type of blade would you suggest? Or is that normally a matter of preference.

If you want to use the point of the blade then tanto's are not very handy, I'd be going for a drop or clip point. Knives with blades longer than 3 inches and/or very thick blades can be difficult to use for delicate work and are best reserved for tough use rather than slicing.
I like a good stainless steel, S30V, 154cm, ats34, VG10, or similar and enjoy the sharpening. I have a DMT Aligner and use a paper wheel to get the knife edge polished and very sharp although this is not really needed. (Hey, it's a hobby as well.)
Have a look at Mcusta knives. Very sharp, attractive shapes, good steel and fitting.
