I am looking for some small (1"x1" to 2"x2") pieces of damascus pieces left over from cutouts of blades.

I'd like to try using some for bolsters (on folders mostly) and such on a few of the knives I plan to make out of stainless and carbon steels.

I've never done what I have in mind, so I'm looking for inexpensive for the first go round... :D

Damascus isn't cheap. Most often anyone having pieces "left over" will use them as you want them for, for bolsters. You can figure on spending $30 t0 $60. If you get the pieces for free be thankful. Frank

Thanks for the reply Frank.

Not looking for free by any means. By inexpensive I meant buying some small pieces of drops, not a whole piece.

Like Frank said, its tough to get. I have a friend in the damascus biz....big time. I have pestered him from time to time about the very same scraps to no avail. I just buy the thick stuff from him and cut my own bolsters and guards. The scraps apparently have value to them in some form or fashion, as they refuse to part with it.

Anything that isn't trash can be used for many things. Key chains, bolsters, and canister billets to name a few.

Charlie I have one pair of basket weave pattern bolsters that I was saving for myself. If you wanted them it would be $23 shipped and I also have quite a bit of other damacus at good prices if your interested.

Decker and Delbert Ealy would also be good people to talk to if your looking for drops of damascus.

Thanks all.

I have 4 pieces of small stock heading my direction come tomorrow from what I have been told.

Hopefully I can make something out of it in the very near future.
