looking to get a medium heavy kukri for using in NC. prefer villager models

They are definitely top of the heap in the cool factor category. And actually neatly balanced for such a heavy beastly blade.

I'll have one some day. I want to be cool too, ya know?
I can't recommend them enough.
Even at 16" that bonecutter is a beast, Mack! Very nice knife.
I'm seriously considering venturing into an 18incher. Bigger is better, right?

In a BC, going up in size probably will yield an uptick in performance. That said, I like my carry khuks in the 14"-16" range.

My favorite chopper is a 18" bonecutter but it's 36oz and tough to pack around. The reason I recommend the WWII for the OPs question is its straighter blade profile and bullnose for batoning. The more curved blades make batoning a tough chore with the extreme handle angle.

Just when I thought I was done buying khukris I had to see that picture of a bonecutter. It's going to take all my limited powers of self control to not buy one if it comes of for DOTD.

Back to recommendations, you can't go wrong with a KLVUK especially for the price.

I'm looking for a KUKRI to help in cutting up and eating "the old 96er." I might possibly need help eating the fat too, I can handle the gristle.

Ah, the old 96'er! Bon appetit!
