Long story short I have a $100 visa gift card and I want to get a blade with it.

Im wanting a carbon blade, 4-5inches , drop point, micarta handles. Is there such a beast for <$100 shipped?

The Ontario RAT-5 fits the bill. Quick scan punched up $77, $82.95, and I'm sure I one could do better given the effort I put in. Makes Amazon's $91.91+ $7.49 shipping look a bit like theft.

The scrapyard looks nice, but my current is a Benchmade Rant in D2 and I love it and that one is pretty close to the same. So I dont REALLY need another, but you know how that goes...So that is why I wanted a micarta carbon blade this time. I was looking at the Rat 5 and the Tak 1 as well. Id like to get a ESEE 4 but no chance of finding one of those for 100 shipped.

Ranger,

In my opinion the ESEE-4 is one of the best knives (that fit your description) within that price range. It has a lifetime warranty that is unbeatable, if it breaks, it will be replaced. Later on if you like buy some G10 handles for it from Dale, I love Dale's Scales.

God bless,
Adam

EDIT: That first link isn't working quite properly for some reason. Go to knives by maker, ESEE Knives, and then click on the link to the ESEE-4 Series. Dale's prices are great and he ships QUICK! And the ESEE-4 is a good knife to get from him.

EDIT EDIT: Just saw your previous post, Dale will get it to you for less than $100 Shipped :D

Thanks for that link, I would love to have the esee 4 for sure, and those prices are perfect. But it looks like hes out of all of them...I will have to check back to see if he gets more soon as that would be the best option.

I think the KSF link is the way to go you can`t go wrong with an ESEE4 .I have two ESEE3s and if I hade the funds I would buy one for all the friends.

I believe Knifeworks was able to ship an EESE 4 out for around $90 without the molle back.

Graywolfknives.com has most of his blades under $100. 1095, micarta, leather sheaths. They are all scandi style bushcrafter knives though.

The ESEE 4's handle was too small for my hands so I'd try and hold one before you buy !

Here's something to consider. Inch longer and a couple bucks more than you specified but it is a good do-all blade that carries well.

I have his Bushcrafter model, and I couldn't be happier with it. I should also mention that he ships his knives with JRE sheaths that would cost about $40 alone. Definitely a one of the better bang for your bucks deals, especially for a hand made knife!

Check with Mark Wohlwend in the knifmakers sub forums, he is a great guy to deal with & works magic with 1095 ! But if productin is what your looking for check out the Ka-Bar/Becker BK2 w/ micarta handles & also check out Condor Tool & Knife, they have a couple of new models out that look like something you might be interested in ! Good luck !
