Looking to get first Hinderer, could use opinions please.

This was his response to my questions: Dear cakes072185,

The blade centering is perfect in my opinion...no play when open..and detent is right on for a flipper style, pops closed and opens silky smooth. Lock up is great..pops when opening. As far as warranty..website says as long as Rick is breathing your knife will be covered forever. You can view this under General Info tab on his website. Thank you.
Regards
Rodney

if you look at what else he has for sale, this is one of his cheaper knives. But like you all say, what does he know...

I found one on the big auction site. It's 800, I believe gen1, it has s35vn stamped it looks like on blade, that's it.

If it was a Gen 1 XM-24, it certainly wouldn't be $800. It is a Gen 2 XM-24 if you are referring to the one for $799 with OD Green scale. It looks legitimate.

That's the one. Do you think the price is fair? Of course I'd rather pay less, but that is what I'm looking for.

I wouldn't discredit him... He might have owned a few... Sounds/looks like the knife is great to me.... You are protected by ebay and paypal, if you choose to buy... Offer him a little lower offer through email.. he might take it...

What would you offer? I've never done this on ebay, worst he can do is say no right?

Exactly... Well if its the one you want and you think it's fair... offer him $700-$750 see what he says... Or wait for one to pop up here... you'd save $100-$150 bucks based on the $799 price.

He won't budge on price. So i asked that since I was going to pay full price, 799 + 9 shipping, if i could get it shipped priority express so I could get it Saturday (it's my b day on Monday, and hell I'm spending 810 on a knife, I want it quickly lol). He said he can't ship until tomorrow afternoon and it would be here Monday or Tuesday. So for all that money he won't even speed up shipping. Well now I have a few hours to think about it I guess. Maybe I'll luck out who knows. Thanks for all the help guys it means alot. If anyone comes across one let me know lol

I picked up user: border shift xm24 he had for sale. Shipping today, going to try and get it here tomorrow.

I don't know about you guys, but I think that is the ugliest scale I've ever seen, the green one lol. Does anyone know who made it, and what it's worth? Just going to throw it on the exchange. Also can anyone tell what gen it is? Looking at the monkey edge frag scales, and I think I saw that it only works on gen 2. Could be wrong. Thanks to all for the help. I truly appreciate it. Kwazyjuice shot me the thread and got this started, special thanks to him!

That's a gen 2 xm-24. All factory scales should fit that knife including any of the frag scales. That green scale is not an RHK scale. It was done by a pimper.

Cakes, congrats! I didn't know that one was still available. I would imagine you got it at a better price than the one on the bay (not asking what you paid for it). I agree, that green scale is not my thing either. The good thing about XM-18/XM-24 "Users" is that most of the time you can tell they were even used, especially the stonewashed versions. Congrats again, welcome to the herd! Anyone wanna place bets on how long it takes him to pick up a 3.5" slicer?:)

You're welcome! And welcome to the Herd!! Now you're in for a ride, haha! The Hinderer sickness is a strong force... ;)

I'll say this. If my wife ever decides to Google my knives and see what they're worth, I'm dead. as long as I like the size, I'll probably go for an XM24 slicer. I payed 45 less than ebay, and got an extra scale. Lol that green scale will be on the exchange as soon as I can take pics of it and post. Anyone want it?
