Looking for suggestions on makers in Europe or Canada. I said Europe first because iv looked and looked here in Canada to no avail. I'm looking to have a medium sized fighting knife made. Budget is 300 to 400 cad. If there's anyone on here that could help me out just let me know. Thanks in advance!

I don't know but I think it is a sure sign "The Apocalypse is near" (or is it "The Epoxy Lips") when there are no knife makers in Canada. What next . . . rabies shots for The Easter Bunny ?

Well there are certainly a few makers here in Canada but it's definitely a small market. Therefore the prices commanded tend to be a bit higher then in the states or Europe as it's not as competetive. The exchange rate certainly makes matters worse as most of the supplies come from the states.

If I listed all the Canadian Knifemakers it would be an impressive list, so I will throw out a few:

Peter Rasentti
Brian Tighe
The Grimsmo Brothers
Kirby Lambery
Murray Carter
Greg Lightfoot

The list is much longer, but most people know these guys.

Your budget is a little tough, but it could work for a fixed blade?
It comes down to materials and who....

Just make sure you don't start changing your specs halfway through the build and telling the maker how he should be doing his heat treatment.

This should go without saying or the next place we'll see the OP will be in the GBU...

A couple of those guys only make folders and Murray is in Oregon I'm pretty sure. Lambert, lightfoot and Brian tighe all make awesome knives but are about 100 bucks or so outside my price range. I checked out north arms and they look to be quality knives but more on the production side. Maybe I'll have to make this one myself lol.
