Hey,
My work has me about 1000 miles away from my shop and I hope to start some dialogue with a blade maker (or two) locally.

I have a project in mind using wire rope and would appreciate anyone interested in dropping a PM!

Thanks,

Mike

It might help if you tell us exactly where you are.
Also, tell us a bit about your project and what skills and equipment you need the smith to have.

Left Coast, Upper and Lower Corners..

Agreed, I never understand this cryptic cutesy BS

With worldwide members, we have no idea what continents, what country, what coast, what state, what city you are near

Spell-it out

Ok, now that I have totally demonstrated my newb-ness here:confused:

I am in San Diego for a couple more months and I am looking for someone who can turn some Carrier arresting gear wire into a presentation piece (or two).

I have done entry level forging at home but I lack the contacts and equipment I need to pull this off.

I am not sure how to obtain PM privileges.

At you mercy (I'm proud of my humility...)

Yes, I can supply the material, I need someone with the equipment and ability.
I can partner or sponsor.

RE: "cryptic cutesy BS"
Hah, I am from the Pacific Northwest but down in So Cal right now.

I am impressed with the size and activity of this forum!
There are a lot of people involved in every aspect of playing with sharp objects!

Spokane WA/San Diego, CA would have been much clearer.

Check with the deck crew supervisor and find out what the arresting cable is made of. It may not be forge weldable.
