Looking to pick up a fountain pen

I use fountain pens exclusively. I use a Taccia Imperial Portuguese and a Waterman Charleston. I use Private Reserve ink as well as Pelikan inks. I have NEVER had a problem with the Taccia. The Waterman is picky with ink but works fine with Private Reserve. I have had many fountain pens. I had old ones from the 20's and brand new ones but I have stuck with the Taccia through time.

Go take a look around www.fountainpennetwork.com . It is a great resource with lots of pen and ink reviews and very friendly people.

My daily user rotation these days mainly consists of Parker 51s (Aerometric), Lamy Safaris and Al-Stars, Pilot Elite Pocket Pens and Levenger True Writers. All rock solid, reliable performers and available in the $25-70 range.

I love the Waterman Charleston. For the money, it's an amazing pen. I have been using one for the past 3 years to write laboratory notes using Noodler's 'Bulletproof' black ink (won't EVER come off paper, regardless of the solvent used), and it's still going strong. Actually, I am still using the original bottle of ink.
