Looking to upgrade from a Double-A maglite to an LED...

My first upgrade from a Maglite was the Fenix L2D CE. What a difference!!!! I used it for several months before moving to CR 123 lights. I got the Fenix P3D CE and then the P2D CE. The amount of light coming out of these little things is amazing! I carried the P2D until I really upgraded to a McGizmo LS 20 a couple months ago.
 
How is the Fenix L2D turned on and off? Does one rotate the lamp fixture as with the mini-mag? I'm not a big fan of that design because my maglite keeps turning on in my pocket and then draining the batteries. I installed a new pair of double a's recently only to go through them all the next day without even realizing it.
