Looking to upgrade from my trusty Spydercos

It's not a question of which one, it's a question of when.
Gotta get one of each, just gotta do it. If money and time
aren't issues and it seems that you can get it direct from
Hinderer based on your response, then do it in this order:
XM-18, VECP and then the zaan. Ya, half the fun is finding
an XM-18 for a good price and you've already done that.
Now, reward yourself.

That being said, I've actually gone the other way- finding myself
back to Spydercos; been really curious about their up coming
new releases they have and have had, like the Tuff and Southard
Flipper.

However, the XM-18 will still find it's way into my pockets.

Best of luck with your choices.

Dang. You folks aren't making it easy :D

I am. How would you say the new SNGs compare in the lock up department? The reason I've been turned off from Striders is mainly all the negative press they've gotten, aside from the less than pleasing looks(personal opinion!)

I understand what you mean about the CRKs, and some part of me agrees - but still wants one... The self defense/tactical aspect of it doesn't really factor in with me. I live in Sweden and I don't work as a LEO. I just want a really nice EDC that will handle whatever I throw at it when it accompanies me into the forest during summertime(I dabble in forest firefighting.)

For my current purposes - and because I really love the aesthetics - I think my first choice would be an XM-18 3.5, but then I'm faced with two new problems... Slicer/Spanto, Flipper/Non-flipper... Why don't more people own these knives in Sweden? I need tactile feedback!
For your purposes then I'd say it boils down to aesthetics and what strikes your fancy. Like many will tell you on here, if you're a real knife nut, then you'll end up owning all of them. I won't get rid of my sebenza nor my XM, I just carry them for different purposes. I've got way too many knives (according to my wife) and the very last one I'd get rid of (if I had to) would be my XM. To me they're just that good. The next knife on my want list is the upcoming Spyderco Southard (SP) Flipper. I REALLY think this is going to be a winner.

Crk tactical no way stick it in a lock and see if the tip stays there hinderer is a duty knife crk awesome knife ah yea to me two different knifes for different uses both really nice what your using it for makes the difference
