Looks like Blade-tech has some new designs. I have yet to find a Wegner design that I didn't like. Tim has a knack for designing some awesome tools. Anyway, thought I would share some pics.

I was planning on getting an Ocelot as my next knife, but I think I will have to get the Ganyana first. Here are the specs:

BLADE-TECH “Ganyana”

• Blade Steel S30V (Flat ground)
• Blade Length 2 3/4"
• Blade Thickness 1/8”
• Overall Closed Length 3 3/8"
• Overall Open Length 6 3/4”
• Blade-Tech V-Hole
• Precision D-Nut “Torx” Head Blade Pivot
• Weight 2.6 oz.
• Ambidextrous tip up only Pocket Clip
attached with Phillips screws.
• Black G-10 Only
• G-10 MSRP @ $134.95

I love the Ganyana, but the blade is just too busy with text and pictures. I really can't stand that.

Its an amazing knife but.

I don't like the way its going.
Its trying everything. It had a review in the defence forum and its trying the tactical look now.

It should have a full flat blade :)

Whats with the recurve blade? Its bad for hunting and skinning. Isn't it a hunting knife to start with?

Whats with the armor penetrating new tip? Is it a fighter now?

In my mind, This is one of the best designed for a knife that ever existed.
The spyderco version is nothing compared to the blade tech.
But I want a full Flat
:P

The original design was indeed designed as a hunting knife. I am a full time police officer and have found the design excelled at far more than hunting. It made a superb "tactical" knife. Truly a case of the design transending it's original intent. The one with the recurve blade and penetrating tip is called the BLADE-TECH “M.L.E.K” Military Law Enforcement Knife. There will also be a trainer available for this model. Specs for the M.L.E.K. are as follows:

• Blade Steel S30V (Flat ground)
• Blade length 3 5/8”
• Blade Thickness 1/8”
• Overall Closed Length 4 7/8”
• Overall Open Length 8 ½”
• Blade-Tech V-Hole
• Precision D-Nut “Torx” Head Blade Pivot
• Ambidextrous tip up / tip down pocket clip
• Double nested liners with radius ramp liner lock
• Weight 4.3 oz.
• Choice of black G-10 Only
• MSRP @ $154.95

There is a version with:

• Blade and all parts are coated with a Tactical Black “TUNGSTEN DLC”
(Diamond Like Coating) to give a non reflective appearance and enhanced
rust resistance under “EXTREME” field conditions
• MSRP @ $204.95

I just went there (Bladetech) and looked at that beautiful knife! I think I'm going to "pull the trigger"!:D

It's only money, you can't take it with you! (this small statement has helped me spend more money than I want to think about!)

So I guess I am the only one that finds these knives ugly...

I am sure they are great knives, but I find the Manix, Military, and AFCK to look similar, but much better.

I am the only one who finds the green handled/black blade pe model extremely appealing? I cannot find it on their website, does anyone know when/where I can purchase one?

I like them all, but I don't think any of them are for me except the Mouse II. Just because it seems like a great knife in a very particular category I need.

I kind of get an Al Mar vibe from these knives.

Agreed. I spied the Ganyana some time ago in Blade (I think) and was immediately impressed by the design. There was just a little blurb about it at the time.

Got my order in now, though......

Thanks for the pics, btw!
