Looks like Brous is going to China

I ordered a the Brous hoback collab and hadn’t heard of his stuff before then. I must say after reading this thread and the kut throat stuff I’m really bummed out. I could never afford a real hoback and this is as close as I could get to one :(

Hopefully that stuff that happened can be chalked up to being young and I hope he has matured since then.

Enjoy the knife, people keep buying Striders from a well known douche, Jason is small potatoes in comparison. :D

Hey ... with the made in China discount plus the 70% off direct , I maybe could afford one !

bigger fail than i thought it would be.

Thanks ! Great review, but NOT my kind of knife . The finger hole and flipper is a no go for SD . The most thing appealing on the review was a brief flash of a Kershaw Emerson .:thumbsup:

This applies to any folder. Not realistic for SD high stress.

I own the fixed blade silent soldier warncliffe. Its a good little knife and good ergos. It is excessively thick though . and I don't like D2 as much as other steels. But I do like that little thing as a non threatening belt knife with a solid grip for the size. the sheath is fantastic .

Overpriced for sure. I got one on sale for about $70 wouldn't pay more than that.

I do find the occasional 70% off sales a bit weird. I almost bought another Silent soldier FB since it would have been such a good price. But I wonder why he does it? didn't end up going for it though only need one of them.

Spyderco is also having many of their knives made in Taiwan, i made a comment in their Spyderco forum, said the only Spyderco knives besides one Mfg. in Japan i would have had to be Mfg. in Golden Co where they Mfg. their American knives.
Don't think Sal or his son
Spyderco's owners liked my comment in their forum, since i no longer can post there.

I was not down grading Taiwan quality of knife Mfg. just implying my own feelings.

Your opinion sucks. The knives they have made in Taiwan are amazing and they make them there because of that. Us spyderco fans like that they are made there and support them regardless of where they are made. Your not gonna make very many friends here.

Pretty sure that wasn't what caused you trouble. Mighta been the pic of your knives with your pants down.

Back on track... That knife is awful.

I've never liked anything Brous makes. I just don't like 'em. Plus, I don't buy Chinese knives, so I'm doublesure I'll never own any of these. LOL

If anything the Golden Spydercos have trouble matching the quality of the taiwan taichung production spydies.

Just out of curiosity why would you buy a Japanese spydie but not taiwanese?

Spyderco has some folders made in italy as well. They’ve even had some made in switzerland.

I'm glad they're working for you. I just have never seen a single thing with his name on it where I was like "Oh snap, I need one of those."

Well I really liked the Perrin La Griffe and Le Shark neck knives not only as a little self defense neck knife but as a little tiny utility blade. However they are ground very thin from thin stock. The Silent Soldier neckers have alot of that same defensive capability while also being better suited for a tougher utility job.

I almost never wear them around my neck. Rather they tuck very nicely into my waistband. The butt of the handles sort of hook over the belt and I use the ball chain necklace as a static cord.

I think your wrong implying that Spyderco has trouble matching the quality of Tiawan Mfg.ed knives.

Spyderco knives Mfg.ed in Golden Co. are of the highest quality, they have no trouble matching the quality of knives Mfg.ed in any Country.

You’re entitled to your beliefs. I’m not saying golden spydies lack quality. Just that the taichung ones are typically pushing the bar more with higher end materials. There is a reason their highest end models almost always come out of taichung.

And especially comparing seki city japan spydies to taiwan taichung Spydies, taichung is putting out much higher end stuff than seki.

I sold many IMHO high quality knives while working at a local sporting goods store, we had for example Microtech's Medfords Benchmade Grinds KIA's ZT and Kershaws Spydercos and many many more.
I sold a lot of Microtechs when our state law changed on Autos, sold many ZTs&Kershaws Benchmade was one brand knife that was a real high in demand sold many Spydercos not many Medfords a few their high quality but large and costly.
I have three Spyderco's an MP2 Manix2 and a Delica made in Japan i also have a ZT three Microtechs a bunch of Benchmades a Kershaw my first folder and a Schrade made in Taiwan a quality knife using 1059 steel.
So i in no way am down talking knives made in Taiwan i just posted with Spyderco's i want to buy today their knives Mfg.ed in golden Co. because i want to support their workers.
The reason i only buy the OTF Autos Mfg.ed by Microtech Mfg.ed in the USA they are the highest quality made OTF knives, and i support their workers, same can be said about Benchmade and ZT&Kershaws Mfg.ed in the USA.
Hope this clears up any misunderstanding as to my post.

I figured you wanted to support American manufacturer but I was curious then why you have no issue buying Japanese Spydies.
