RD is a great chopper, and I was impressed with its performance and edge retention. But the RD is not as forward heavy as the FBM. Because of the FBM's heft and balance point, I'd give the nod to the FBM in the chopping category. It is just an outstanding straight-line chopper. I hope my user LE comes pretty soon.
However, the trade-off, of course, is weight. Takes a little more muscles to get the FBM going, and if you measure ounces when you hike, then the RD gets the nod (between the two knives).
