loose wooden scales - repair tips?

hi
I just got an old Henckels whittler, with wooden scales

the area around the pins near the bolsters have seem to come loose over the years.
if you press on it, you can feel them "pop" back into place
after you release the pressure then they pop back out.

has anyone ever encountered, or repaired a knife with problems like this?

thanks!

a squirt of superglue between the handly and liner, then keep pressure on it until the glue drys, it was worked for me in the past.

There are two pins holding the scales on...

the scales are loose to the point they can be removed...otherwise I would have tried the epoxy or glue

I've thought about peening, but not certain how to accomplish this,
because it would appear if I were to peen the pin, it might compress the sides of the knife, possibly making it difficult to open the blades.

is this a valid concern? if so, how would I peen the pins, and not affect the tightness of liners/blades?

thanks

If you could email me pictures of the knife in question that show the problem, I would be better able to diagnose the problem.
