Esav, nice site. That guy knows his stuff and researches. There is one pic in the latest Newsweek showing one of the hobbits with a hobbit-sized short sword, which is a long knife for a man. This is iehter Sting or one of the blades made by the men of Westernesse in the second Age. Looks like an Arkansas toothpick to me

The Hobbit has been a steady read since the wee years. Yes indeed you are correct, a quad for sure.

As for the swords, the originator of the thread names most in his first post. Anduril for Aragorn(Strider), Sting for Bilbo and then Frodo, Glamdring for Gandalf..

Of course there was the Orcrist also...speaking of the first book

And as far as the fifth book of Middle Earth I couldn't get through it. I've heard that it was Mr. Tolkien's son's attempt at personal financial freedom...
