Losing The War Against Humidity

You may want to avoid the cardboard blade protectors...a lot of types of cardboard can be slightly on the acidic side of the scale.

I was going to suggest this also in the case you may be using the cardboard sleeves ... cardboard can draw moisture as well as the acidic side affects it can have.

Frog lube has done ok for me I've used John Taylor Butcher Block food grade mineral oil also ... and if you store in an ammo box I use the silca boxes that you can put in the oven and reuse rather then the small packets.

I use SLIP2000 on my rifles (EWL version) as well as Mobil1 (AR bolt carriers).

I use USGI LSA on my knives. Its probably cancer-causing but I don't eat the stuff.

Eezox on the outside, Slip2000 ewl on all the inside, slip 2000 grease on hard bearing surfaces "sear, discon, hammer, extractor, slides etc" just don't get eezox in your mouth I think it's cancerous in like 8 states not just the paranoid california that claims a air power pellet gun releases enough lead into the air to kill a condor. what's next mouse fart's killing spotted owls ?

Obenauf's beeswax/leather protectant works great on protecting my non stainless blades. Taste great too!

I absolutely love this stuff and will give it a try. I do worry about it attracting bears, after I treat a sheath or pair of boots my dogs won't leave them alone.
I use froglube paste on my stripped SR101 and kitchen Infi. Also Remington makes a reusable plug in silica packet for safes etc. for about $20 that can be found on online.

Frog lube seems to be working out fine over here with humidity constant @ 80%

OK, OK, this is good stuff here. Ren Wax and Froglube, Slip 2000 EWL seem to be the higher-rated lubes/protectants. No word on Tuf-Glide or ALG Go-Juice? I realize Go-Juice is relatively new to the market, but nobody else has tried it?

Edit: I keep driving at Tuf-Glide/Tuf-Cloth as I've already invested in these items/have them on hand, and have mentioned the other lubes/oils/greases for the same reason. I'm looking to save on not purchasing something else, but the Renaissance Wax, Slip 2000 EWL and Froglube endorsements have me thinking. I'm not brushing off those recommendations, to be clear, just trying to work with what I have.

Edit 2: As an addendum, I highly recommend ALG Go-Juice for firearm lube. I've been running it for months in both my AR and FNX and they're so impossibly smooth, much more than any lube I've used before. It stayed high and dry during the Hurricane Harvey flood, which is why I ended up using it to protect my Busse/Kin in the aftermath. If you've purchased a Geissele trigger or moving part recently, chances are you got a sample packet of the stuff; use it. It's great.

I use "Gun Socks" for all my big blades. You can easily make your own too. If you want, search & buy some sold by Remington.

I get cheap 100% cotton Track/GYM socks (the ones that you could pull up to your knee caps) and spray/soak the insides with Silicon. Or your favorite antimatter protectant (3 In 1 oil seems to work the best). Then store the knife in the safe or whatever. As a footnote, this works great if you have some cheap Cold Steel machete in the garage or shed.

FWIW: I coat everything in my stupid humid, South Louisiana garage with 3 in 1 oil. It is amazing stuff but stinks. I coat everything in my safe with Frog Lube.

Beware: If you have a handle/scale you are worried about soaking up the silicon (linen) , then you may want to put a small sock over that to keep them from directly touching the silicon.
