It's a sad day for me today as I had to take my 3 year old Golden Retriever Fiona in to be put to sleep. She was diagnosed with Lymphoma about 3 weeks ago and the cancer had spread throughout her body. She had a few good weeks thanks to the meds and diet we had her on but my little trooper just couldn't fight it off anymore. She went for a walk last night, which was something she loved to do everyday but this morning she started aspirating blood from her nose and I knew it was time.
She was my Father's Day gift three years ago and was nothing but a joy. To say that I will miss her doesn't even begin to touch the sorrow and loss. I will cherish the short time we had with her forever.
I do believe that she is in a better place because all dogs go to heaven.
