Lost a friend today

I've been through the same experience and feel your pain. My prayers go out to you for the loss of your friend.

That's a real shame. Our pets can be some of the closest friends we know. My sincere condolences for your companion.

I read your post yesterday, outdoorsfan. I've lost
more than my share of 4-legged buddies to cancer.
Today I wrote this...

I’ve neither felt happier during our days
nor safer on nights with you by my side.
My life has been touched in so many ways.
On your passing I said a prayer and I cried.

Mr. Fan I am truly sorry for your loss... We have a 6 yr old Dachshund/ terrier that is our BABY... We went to the vet and we were told that she had tumors (MY HEART SUNK.) We had to put the wife's cat down and it Killed me! I wish you and your family my deepest sympathies.

Well put Clydetz.

Hi Sean, believe me I feel your pain and can relate to how you are feeling. Once a human commits to taking a pet, I feel they are obligated to taking care of that pet through thick and thin, just like when you make that marriage vow. But, this is the only drawback that I have found to commiting to that pet, and I think that you have to kind of prepare yourself for that last part from the day you take your pet home. This is the part that I hate the most and I have been there several times. That almost kept me from realizing the joy that I have gotten from the little dog that Yvonne and I have now but, I do very much dread the time when she is called back! Unfortunately, the only thing that heals that hollow and painful space in your heart, is time! Sure was sorry to hear about your lose!

I feel for your loss, outdoorsfan.

I always wondered: do dogs really know, do they ever know, how much they meant to us, and how much we loved them? Can they even begin to comprehend how their existence touches ours?

Thanks Tom. It was tough but at least I have a ton of great memories.
