Today was one of those days I shoulda stayed in bed....... I went to the bookstore with my half ser Rukus in my pocket, securely clipped and by the time I got home it was gone. I looked everywhere, tore apart my car asked the clerks there and it's gone. I keep thinkin it'll magically show up but it won't. I am so depressed, that was my most expensive knife and my favorite by far....I can't afford to replace it yet so that just makes it worse.......sorry I needed to vent. Worst....day.....ever......

I lost one 2 months ago when I had my surgery. It will be somewhere on your person or bag. It always show up when you least expect it.

I hope you find it too.

S/F,

I lost mine two months ago as well, but I was the one performing the surgery!:foot:

Well, not quite. It will turn up just as soon as you order a replacement.

Or, at least that's the way it always seems to work.

Man, that bites.

But even more, I wonder how you missed it. The RUKUS ain't exactly a U2. It has some heft and size to it.

Hope it shows up soon (should be too big for the knife gremlin to use :)

What kills me is you wonder who gets it
I didn't, but my wife recently lost her brand new Spyderco Dragonfly that I had just made a lanyard for. It's not an expensive knife so that wasn't the worst part. It's thinking about the #$@! who stumbles across it and goes "Oh gee, look what I just found!" Aaaargh! I don't quite know why that bugged me so much but it did. Still does now that I think about it.

I lost a spyderco police model in college, and as someone said as soon as the katz folder I bought to replace it showed up...she found it (yes its that kind of story) somewhere in the frame of her bed...

overall it was actually a win-win situation ;)

hope it works out the same for you...

Hey Deezul...

Since no one has said it yet...
Check your car..
Especially around the seats,, as well as the seatbelt...

I thought I'd lost a folder on more than one occasion, and it was nicely clipped to the seat belt...

Somehow the pocket clip gets hooked to the seatbelt, and when you take it off it pull out of your pocket without you feeling it..

I think this has happened to some people here as well...

Very good advice! The right places to look.

When think I've misplaced a blade, the OCD kicks in full force.

I'll stop everything I am doing, and try retracing my steps until I find the damn thing. I will look in the same places repeatedly. I might waste up to 2 hours looking, and then look again for it later in the day. If I was out/about I'll go to those places and pester people if they've seen it.

Fortunately, my track record for lost blades has been 0 lost in the past few years...(knocks on wood) The closest I came was I dropped my 1st Spyderco (a Massad Ayoob) out of my pocket (wasn't clipped) into the space between the car seat and the console. Spent 90 minutes looking for it before I checked the car. Damn, that one stopped my heart...

I was out hunting deer last year and decided to sit down up against a tree and wait for sunrise anyway felt something poking me figureed it was a stick and went to move it and it was a spyderco endura open stuck in the ground. Wasnt mine but it was my woods and it had been there a while full of dirt and pretty nasty looking overall. Took it home cleaned it up and gave it to my best friend who I got tired of watching with chinese folders that were always dull. He loves it still carries it today. Never did find out where it came from. I only let 2 other people hunt on my land and it wasnt either of theirs.

lost my gret spyderco calypso jr a couple of months back.I had a back up so I'll be ok if I don't lose it too.

Buck/Strider Tarani Police model.....40.00 knife when I bought it 154.00 now.
probablly hooked it on someone 's seat belt.

GOOD NEWS......before I left the house I was carrying water bottles to the basement and the freakiest thing happened. I went down to check for my knife and it was CLIPPED to a jacket hanging on the stairs. It somehow snagged out of my pocket and grabbed onto a coat..thats truly a WTF moment. Happy now though! I am really a little leary of carrying it now though!(and yea I was about to order one on CC even if I can't afford it!) Thanks for the suggestions

Deezel....

Cool..

See what I mean..
Those little buggers can do some strange things sometime...
Wasn't a seatbelt, but it transfered none the less..

Good News!!

I once lost a Benchmade Panther on the subway...... after owning it for a week!

Since it was discontinued at the time, I couldn't replace it.

I always search til I find a knife if I misplace it. It just bugs me to loose one.

But my wife lost a Pirhana auto in Yellowstone last summer and it's taken her til yesterday to replace it. But she's back to where she was again.

Whoever finds it probably won't appreciate it. I've lost 2 or 3 in my day. I never freaked out because I always used to carry an Endura and at the time they were only about $40.

Funny story - I lost one on a trip to visit family in Fort Bragg, California about 5 years ago. It had my initials etched into the blade. I went on a fishing trip 2 weeks ago with my uncle. Guess what he pulls out of his pocket to gut & gill a King Salmon - My knife from 5 years ago. The funny thing is that he said it is the best knife he's ever had. I let him keep it - after all he's family and has bonded with the knife. At least it is getting used.
