Lost a knife..replaced it... paranoid...carry options?

Normark (on'scene tactical) makes kydex neck sheaths. They look good and I always wanted to try one. Mors Kockanski says if you have a knife around your neck, you tend to keep a better eye on it

I keep mine on a solid key ring, then attached to my caribiner (also have keys on a ring, a small flashlight and occasionally a whistle on rings on the caribiner). When using the delica I take it off the caribiner.

The key for not loosing things is to have a system where you practice the same habits each day (such as putting your keys in the same place at home), aways knowing what is in your pockets and not leaving things lying around.

Sheeze, I am OCD about keeping track. I know HOW I lost it. I had a monstrously HEAVY satchel that was so heavy that I let it drag against my leg.
Then when I hoisted it into the trunk, the clip on the knife was SO pressed against my arm that it actually stabbed INTO my arm and thus pulled the knife out.
The damn satchel was such an effort to lift that I didn't even notice the injury. I saw blood running down my arm, but thought nothing of it since I often get a scratch on bushes or something.
Only AFTER getting home and noticing the knife GONE did I connect the location of the injury to the height of the clip.

In all probability, I will NEVER lift another thing that I have carried in a satchel that will catch in a clip. Lifting heavy BOXES wouldn't do it. They are not dragging against your leg.

I just got paranoid and started thinking of ways to prevent ALL accidents which is impossible.

This is like the first and ONLY time I lost my wallet. At Mt. Vernon when I was 15. They mailed it back to me (without the money of course) so I learned to CHECK my wallet all the time.

Which is probly my best practice now.

Check wallet, check knife, ....check.

The only time I ever had a knife come unclipped was the one time I carried my mini-rukus in my left hip pocket. Did not lose it as I heard it clank on the pavement. So no more hip pocket for me.

In many years, late 80s, of carrying knives clipped to front pockets, I have never had a problem. And I usually carry one each side. I have had them slide up and almost come out, but never all the way.

BTW, the first thing I do when I get a new knife is remove the clip and bend it for a firmer grip to my pocket. Thus the clip always twangs when I pull it out and it comes free of the pocket.

I can't believe it, but I ....found.... the Delica.
I was wrong about knowing where I lost it.
It's been "gone" since May 20 when we came back from vacation.
Today I had some work done on a deck and we had to move the furniture off of the deck.
While putting it BACK, here's the knife hanging by the clip on this wire mesh mechanics wire net that I tie down over the fish tub to keep raccoons out of the fish.
I must have removed that cover and snagged the clip.

But.... SHE'S HOME AGAIN !!

Actually never left, but..........................

:):):):o
