Lost a knuckle

well that will grow back  I thought the knuckle would at least freeze up on you or worse :grumpy: :D
I have a chain saw scar on my leg that would put your whole finger to shame:D
it didn't hurt much until it got infected and ripped some stitches out:eek:
that left a mark and that was 37 years ago :D

rub a little maiden oil in it and enjoy  :D

Good to know rambo;)

i hate when that happens.... good luck healing.
Just some first aid info and a similar story.....
I was piss drunk in a hotel sweet with my wife and all was nice untill i slipped in the hot tub and smashed a champagne glass:o I sliced a fat chunk off of my right ring finger right on the cuticle. After bleeding all over everything in the room,my clothes and my wife we got to the hospital like 3 hours later they quarterized it with silver dioxide (i was piss drunk but i remembered that) Overall it hurt like a bastard but with a BAC of .18 they wouldnt give me an anestetic ...like i needed one:D
Keep it clean and keep on working that knife is sweet looking

Well Im dissapointed.Thats a scratch.I lost my entire finger nail and tip of my finger when it got stuck in a belt grinder in high school shop 18 years ago(damn protective covers they put on them trapped my finger.Idiots!!!!).my finger nail still doesnt grow right.Buck up bro.He He.:D

Very cool little knife, but as far as the wound goes...

Bet it still smarts don't it?:D

Reminds me of the immortal words of Mel Brooks:

"Tragedy is when I cut my finger. Comedy is when you fall into an open sewer and die.':D

Or the words of Larry,Moe ,and Curly:
"Tragedy is when I poke myself in the eye ,Comedy is when I poke your eye."

In all seriousness I would get that looked at. It doesnt look bad but I know from experience that any trauma to the hand can last for decades. I cut about an inch off the middle finger on my left hand about 20 years ago. I thought I would bleed out before I drove myself to the hospital. The bone got infected several days later and other complications set in. Its still hurts to this day.

Poor Lil' Boy!! You should of come down here and gone to Puzzles and they would of kissed it better for you.  HEHEHEHEHE!!

That's it? That's... IT? That's a minor scratch where I come from. Geebus quitcher cryin and get back to work! LOL! :D

I'll bet it hurts like hell today, doesn't it? :D I have one of those healing on my "social finger" right now. They heal reasonably quickly. Good luck!

Yeah. Hurts like someone hit it with a hammer. Weird pain for a cut and more than i'd expect for something so small. Feel silly now...

If you happened to nick the cartilage on the joint, it will hurt like no tomorrow and won't ease off in just a day or two. You will have to keep very close watch on it to avoid infection. I was serious when I told you to avoid dipping into the slack bucket; they are often loaded with nasty bacteria.

Don't feel real silly. I made the very same mistake you did and cut a two inch slice into my thumb, splitting the nail and leaving a flap you could tuck a piece of Trident gum into. Just wait until you drive your thumb into the metal cutting bandsaw! That doesn't so much cut as gnaw. Leaves a jagged cut that the metal dust helps chemically cauterize.

At least we get our knives sharp! ;) You might want to consider polishing with soft EDM stones next time you do a zero edge. :)

I work in a hospital do not worry all exsanguination stopes eventually. Do get it checked out with the skin missing you want it to heal with enough skin that you can still bend your finger.
I cut two of my fingers lengthwise most of the whole length of both fingers, my brain said this does not happen to you it happens to other people. Exsanguination was a undestatement. If you go to emergecy and they rush you right in it is time to worry.
Cheers Ron.

So, the wound is still pretty dang sore, I think. One time I smacked my thumb with a hammer, hard enough to burst my thumb open. What REALLY hurt is when I smacked it again the next day. The suggestion about leaving your knuckle wound open to air and keeping it clean a good suggestion, I think.
