I lost my Benchmade Griptilian a few days ago from my pocket and I still cant find it. I have had a knife on me for about 20 years and this is the first one I lost, of course it was my expensive one that I only had for 4 years. I am looking for some recommendations for a cheaper $30-$60 folding knife for EDC as I don't want to lose another $100+ knife. I have looked at a bunch of knives that I will list below with my thoughts but any recommendations are welcome.

Spyderco Tenacious - Great price, good name, but don't like the Chines steel.

Spyderco Endura 4 FFG - Seems like a great knife, love the look/idea of FFG, good steel, but price a little on the high side. And I own the original Endura but wont carry it due to the integrated clip always catching stuff and coming off easy. I found it to be an okay knife but liked my Griptilian a lot better.

Spyderco Centofante III - Like the look better than the Endura 4, good steel, but price a little on the high side.

Buck Knives 0347 Vantage Pro - Seems like a great knife, good look, good size, great steel (c30v), price on the high side but getting upgraded steel.

Kershaw Blur - Don't like the opening assist, but finding a good price on the s30v might be good too. On the fence on this one.

Kershaw Leek - Tip seems to be prone to breaking.

Ontario RAT 1 - Seems good for the money but I was hoping for a little better steel/knife.

Of all the knives about I am leaning towards to the Endura 4, Centofante, and funny enough the Buck due to the good look and great steel. Any help would be appreciated as I am lost with out my knife thanks.

Griptilians can be bought for less than $100. Personally I'd get another one. But if you are stuck on the options you asked about, I'd go with the Endura and then the RAT 1.

Kershaw Leek tip seems to be prone to breaking?

From whence did you come to this observation?

Haven't broken mine. Son hasn't broken his.

Get one. You'll get another when you lose it.

Sounds like you pretty much nailed it there. It can be had right at the high end of your price range, but Buck's quality and warranty, and S30V for $60, all made in the USA, is pretty darn good. And to top it all off it's a nice knife. Based on what you wrote it sounds like you talked yourself into it, and come to think of it, you talked me into one as well!

I have seen a few reviews on it with the tip concern. Would you consider it tough enough for a camp knife on occasion?

I am open to anything, just really annoyed I lost my expensive knife. So I don't want to put out another $100 just to lose it again. That is why I was looking at the $30-$60 range so it I do lose it it won't be as bad.

Out of what you got listed I'd go with the Blur. Cold Steel Aus 8a blades are excellent and they go for well under $50 these days. All Kershaw and Cold Steels are good for most part imo and are the only real cheap folders i have anymore. Take your pick of them. I think many sellers on ebay and else where have them for around $75 new also. There is an online store that has coupon codes to where you can get them for $65 new certain times of year. Where did you pay $100 for a Griptilian? Or was it Ritter Grip? Maybe it will still turn up too. Hope you find it.

Cryo is what I carry everyday and in G-10 it's a tough nut for the money, you might want the II for a half inch more blade length.
I would not recommend the Leek for a camp knife, it's a dress knife, IMO and I love it!
Rat 2 is a good beater, then again you might want the 1 for blade length!

Hands down, the FFG Endura - Under $60 bucks, good steel, lightweight, durable, and feels great in the hand. I used to think the Endura was too large to edc until I bought one. Now I have 4 FRN's and a G-10 Endura and carry them more than any other knives I have.

Kizer Ki4419 can be found for $61.95 and nets you S35VN. Given the fit and finish Kizer usually displays, the materials and the price I think it's at least worth a look. And it comes in at least a couple nice colors, I particularly like the orange.

Since you didn't list a blade length requirement, I would absolutely encourage you to look at a Spyderco Delica also...

From your list, the Blur. The Knockout is nice piece too. If you really liked the Grip, be patient and shop around. They can be had for less.

I like...in particular...the Endura 4 with the Emerson Wave feature. I plan on getting that one very soon. I gave one to my cop son-in-law, and it's his rear-pocket carry. I am seeing, in recent threads, that this Endura is enjoyed by quite a few LEO's. It will be on my purchase list VERY soon.

Spyderco Endura 4 with the Emerson Wave feature is on my "need to get soon" list. The RAT 1 is also a good knife, but like you said, the steel could use an upgrade.

I've NEVER lost a clipped knife, but I did lose a multi-blade knife once that was loose in my pocket.

I seem to prefer pretty expensive knives these days, and never worried about losing one on a clip. Guess I'm lucky. Of course, I don't move around too quickly these days, either. :)

My vote is the Rat 1. For the price and the quality your getting, it cant be beaten. You could buy 2 for 60! Always different color choices...

Ive personally had, and seen from friends problems with the blur closing when i didnt want it to. I got rid of mine, dont trust them.

Buck knives always seem to have quality issues, so i personally stay away, but hey man if you dig em then by all means go for it.

And you can never go wrong with a spydie, almost all of them are great knives, and again always so many dang color choices!

$100 in 4 years is not to bad for a decent knife IMO, how much did you spend on phones in the same amount of time?;)
If you loved it, go Griptilian...

I think Endura is one of the best all around knife for the price and size. I vote Kershaw Knockout as second. For Kershaw, you can get replacement blade for $10 and free sharpening & return shipping. One of the best service you can get in mass production knife. I hope you find your Benchmade.
