I had abeautiful damascus blade with beautiful hues of colors. After I used it to cut lemon, it is now dull colored. Is there somthing I can dip it in or use to restore some color in it?

You will have to talk to the maker. If the damascus had colors besides a range of grey silver and black then I would say there is no easy fix. Also keep in mind the color is only a thin surface treatment that will wear off or change as time goes by. If you plan on using the knife you will have to except this fact. Again though talk to the maker! He/she may be willing to restore it at no charge.

What where the colors and maybe a photo would help. Lemons are very acidic and would probably take many finishes off, if not cleaned quickly. Bluing, heat coloring, etc. About all that might survive is the standard shiny nickle dark high carbon contrast and that might suffer some. Sorry this happened. But, the advice of contacting the original maker is probably your bet bet.

Thanks and appreciate all your replies ! I did contact the maker a while back and he said he could restore the color if not for the fact I installed pearl handles on it and he could not restore the color as it had to be subject to heat. Anyway, I will just have to live with this as I did not know acid would take out the color. No problem !!
