A couple weeks ago I lost my trusty 20yr old leatherman micra and after searching high and low I just found it. ( there is a tear in the couch cushion, and it had found its way in there )
The lucky part is the fact that whenever I lose an edc item ( a knife or my micra ) they always turn up around the house or yard , I once found a lost item a year later.
( on a side note, did leatherman date stamp the inside of their tools ? )
So what have you guys lost, and did you find it ?

Lost a buck spitfire at the frat house one night during...err, drinking activities...And found it the next month superglue to the bottom of the speakers.

I lost my SAk cadet for a few months. It slipped out of my pocket and into a relatives couch. They found it a few months later when moving furniture. I did manage to lose it again but I am fairly certain it is around the house somewhere. I bought another and put on one of the little TEC clips to keep it from falling out, so far so good.

My dad lost his knife at work and that was it, so he thought.
It turns out it was actually in his recliner and we found it 6-7mo later.
It was pretty dirty so I had to take it apart and scrub all the parts down with dawn & water, but then it was good to go.( my dad relies on me for knife maintenance, but only because I can't help it when I see the condition he leaves them in )

I have a good one. I was in my car in line at a drive thru. I reached into my right front pocket for change or something, and in the process my Case peanut (yellow in CV) flew out of my pocket and down the slot of the parking brake. I tried to find it, but never had any luck.

Man I'd hate if that'd happened to my micra. it turns out after looking inside it that it's a first year ( made in 1 half made in 0896,and the other 0996 )
My grandma got it as a gift it and never used it ( it was literally NOS ) so I ended up with it in about '09 and it's been with me every single day since then.

Though it wasn't an EDC knife, I can not locate my Blackjack Skinner that I have had for the 20 years. It normally rides on the dash of my truck, or in my computer bag.

If it fell onto the ground so be it, I just hope who ever finds it takes good care of it.

A few months ago, I lost a 4" Higonokami. It turned up a couple of days later when my wife shook it out of the bedclothes; fell out of my pocket during a midday nap. I'm hoping the same thing will happen soon with the Case peanut I just got on clearance at Lowe's. Had it less than a week when it went missing.

A couple of years ago at work I lost the Griptilian my wife had given me for Christmas. I ordered a replacement the same evening. Next day at work, there was my missing Grip, lying on the icy tarmac next to my bus.

The one that really grates is the BM Mini Barrage that went astray from the shelf where I park my knives. I'm pretty sure my junky stepson stole that one and hocked it to buy heroin. Same with the big CRKT folder, but I don't miss that one so much. I probably would have given it to the kid had he asked. It's just his style.

My moms husband was doing the same, and had some homeless guy shooting up with him in the garage when my late 60's western f48a went missing ( I figured it was stolen and I'd never see it again ) I looked high and low and it was nowhere to be found until one day it showed up on the garage floor, obviously he had taken it, then returned it when he was " back on the ground " if you know what I mean. When it went missing I found his leatherman fuse in the shed and kept it ( this was 4 yrs ago and it's still on my belt today )
my moms previous husband gave it to my sisters husband who have it to him.
and after all that it was like new when I got it. ( she claimed he had been asking about it, but it sat unused on the mantle for almost a year so I know that's not true ) I was gonna give it back, but my sharpening stones got broken ( as well as other things ), and his unsavory behavior had me sleeping with an axe next to me.
But the use I've gotten out of this leatherman more than makes up for it.
Honestly I feel a little better when something gets stolen because I know what happened to it , but when I lose something it's my own fault.

I have planted way too many Knifes over the years . I only found one it was an old timer 8ot.

The first one that I thought I had lost was a Kutmaster 2 blade Pioneer Seed Company advertising knife that my father gave me in the mid-60s. In 1969, the knife went missing. 27 years later, in 1996 my parents were getting rid of an old sofa bed. When we opened it and took the mattress out to lessen the weight, that little Pioneer fell out.

The second knife loss was a small stainless steel single blade lock back, made in Japan and sold by some marketing company out of New Jersey. The marks were STAINLESS over JAPAN on one side and "some company name" over NEW JERSEY on the other. The tackle box it was in was lost when our boat flipped over hitting a ginormous wake put out by a house boat on Lake Travis.

My third lost knife was a Buck 482. During the summer of 2014, I was replacing all the insulation in the attic. I would cut the bundles open, separate the batts and roll them up tight and tie a string around them so they would fit through the opening in the ceiling into the attic. It was easier using a folder than a fixed blade so I had the Buck with me to cut the strings. One time when I went to cut a string after mucking the rolls from the opening to the next area to be redone, no knife in my pocket. Searched for it but couldn't find it and there are too many nails to successfully use a metal detector.

I have a few knives "temporarily misplaced" in a couple of boxes that haven't been unpacked from a move or 3 out in the warehouse. Someday.....

I absolutely love my 482 ( bought in '14 )
My favorite eating knife is a pioneer seeds knife , but it's a quikut pairing knife.
That's awesome that you found your knife after such a long time ( I'd love to see what it looks like now )

We still have 3 or 4 of those paring knives. My parents had a feed store and sold Pioneer Seeds products. I can't remember if they were "give aways" or if we sold them. I'll have to ask my mother and see if she remembers. Those are from the early 70s. I may still have one of their old gimme caps tucked away. I'll have to dig the knife out of which ever sock drawer it's sitting in.

Lost a pocket pry bar made of 4116 German steel, it fell out of my jeans when I was on a camping trip with friends, never found it again... Lucky it only cost about 10bucks

Lost an ESEE Candiru that my son gave me for Fathers Day. That stung. I had stripped it and made custom blue and black G10 scales to make it "mine" and carried it in a custom kydex neck sheath. I was sure a friends unsavory son had stolen it out of my shop for beer or smoke money. About a year later when packing for some outdoor time, I found it tucked away in a small mesh pocket in my Maxpedition bag. Felt like Christmas morning. Now ALL my knives are kept in the safe and none in the shop.

I've lost a few and found a few later. I've also lost a few and never found them. The ones that someone gave me as gifts, especially my close family, are the ones that would bother me the most. If I bought it, then lost it, oh well. Hope someone finds it and gets some good use out of it.

Lost one riding an ATV around a corn field!,,, looked and looked,,,found it a year later,, no rust just dirty,, was a cheap Smith & Wesson, if it had been one of my Benchmades or Spyders it would probably still be there!,,, why I use cheap carry knives when working in corn,, it can eat a good knife from time to time! Never found most that were ate !!!:grumpy:

Unfortunately just lost(hoping misplaced) a Spyderco Dragonfly Gen 1 with VG10. Man I love that knife and hope I find it. I've got a couple great knives to replace it but that dragonfly is a perfect 5th pocket knife. Unfortunately if it is lost replacing it will be quite the chore. Those things are scarcer than hens teeth and more expensive.
OP congrats on finding your Micra hope I have the same luck. Fingers crossed.
Cheers
