Lost in a sea of rifle scopes please help...

I have a slight red-green color blindness issue and the German/Austria scopes optics just make everything crisper and higher contrast to my eyes than the Leupolds.

Dang, so this is how I find out I'm color blind? :D

I'd get the tactical--I don't think you could go wrong with either though--I've heard a lot of good things from Nikon.

My personal opinion--the European glass has almost a slight blue tint to it, while the Leupold glass seems perfectly fine to me. I guess everybody's eyes are different...
Yes they are. The Euro scopes look clear to me and the Leupolds have a slightly yellowish tint.

I have made a decision on a brand, I will be going with a Nikon because I can get them at cost through one of my suppliers so that makes a huge difference!

Either a
Nikon Monarch 8425 5-20x44 with BDC reticle
or
Nikon 8415 Tactical 4-16x50 with Mildot (this is my choice, I just dont know if I can swing the xtra $$ it will depend on what I get the rifle for)

anyone own one of these?

Go for it if you can get them at cost. The Nikons seem to be have the same nice high end camera lens grade glass as the Pentax scopes, which is a good thing.

The 3x9x40 Zeiss Conquest will be the best $400 you'll ever spend.

To a previous unanswered question---Barska's are junk---don't waste your money.

I like the zeiss scopes but I really wanted somthing longer than 3x9 and once youstep up from the 3x9 the price jumps majorly

The jump is not bad going to the bigger 3x 9, but the big scopes are in the $800 range. You might as well start looking at the Khales AH line for that kind of money.

Sounds like you're already looking in the right place.I've always used Leupold or Nikon.I've always found the 3X9 is the best all around magnification for both short & long shots.I depends on what & where you're hunting though.I usually go whitetail hunting in somewhat wooded areas & never shot one over 150yds.
Good Luck:)
