Lost in Amazon !

An 18 year old became lost when separated from his friends while hunting in the Amazon jungle. He wandered for 42 days and was found 27 miles from where he became lost. Sadly he died just after his father found him....I couldn't find details but it doesn't seem that he had preparations for emergencies.....www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25478830

42 days is way more than I expect 95% of the people to survive in the jungle (me included). Unless they are locals or have endured some kind of trainning I mean. Too bad he died at the end.

I don't know much about the Amazon jungle but unless you get the worst ever diharrea... I can't see how he got dehidrated. I bet there is plenty of water out there, not sure if it is safe to drink though.
