Ok, I’m wondering if it’s just me, or is it fairly common to lose your pocket folders? Do you have have similar issues or am I just an idiot? It seems I always have at least one folder MIA but they invariably turn up at some point.

My first significant loss was a green micarta Wayne Goddard Spyderco that my brother-in-law gave me about 20 years ago. Don’t know where it went and it bums me out to this day I screwed that one up.

I found this forum in January when I was looking for a replacement for my Mini Griptilian that went missing. Six months later and a good portion of my life spent on Blade Forums and I bought a Benchmade Amicus. Now it’s frigging missing as well! I also ended up with four fixed blades that I didn’t know I NEEDED but that’s another story…

My Emerson Commander also went missing last month. WTH

So, is it just me, or is it just the nature of folders to go MIA?

I won't say I haven't lost knives, but I still have my first knife I got as a boy, and my most carried knife as a boy and young man.

I can think of only one I lost. A gen 1 spyderco endura. I did list a Kershaw leek once, but it turned up a couple months later in my change cup.

So far the only things (gear items) that i've lost at all have been 2 SAK Classics that I bought used and watch-pocket carried. I'm coming to terms that I lost the second one a few days ago, even though I'm sure both of them are in my house somewhere.

Don`t know your living arrangements....
but it sounds like someone is takin your stuff

I've only ever lost 1 knife in my lifetime, it was a kiridashi laced into my boots, it fell out of its sheath without me realizing it while hiking through the woods.

I've had a knife with me everyday since I was around 10 years old, so the frequency of you losing high dollar items sounds like its just you.

I wish I could blame it on someone else but it's just me, my wife and two kids, so it's all on me. Most eventually turn up in the laundry or in the closet still clipped to my pants, but it sucks when they never turn up. Maybe it's the begining stages of alzheimers...

Dude, I need to start following you around, lol!

I temporarily lost my ZT0801 shortly after getting it, a garbage bags caught the clip and pulled it out of my pocket without me noticing.

The only one that I have permanently lost is my old Kershaw 2410ST, which has no pocket clip, so it must have slid out of my pocket someplace.

I've probably lost a dozen knives over the last 60 years, mostly when I was younger and knives were just common tools you bought for a few bucks and used the heck out of. Not a huge loss if something happened to it. I think I've only lost one nice knife, a Spyderco Delica which departed my pocket when I was out hiking one day.

I lost a damascus large sebenza. Was in mourning for months. Plus I know its somewhere in my friends house but I searched for hours to no avail

OK, I feel somewhat better knowing that I'm not the only one and
I just found the Amicus so that helps.

I've been really fortunate and haven't lost a knife yet. I thought I lost my Dragonfly a few months ago but ended up finding it. I did lose my favorite multi tool though- my Supertool 300 in black oxide. Still hoping I'll find it but it's been 8 months now

I've only lost 1. Found it a year later running network cable through the ceiling at work- It was where I placed it last time I was running network cable through the ceiling at work.

I hate losing stuff.

Congrats on the find!

So far I've lost 2 Saks and 2 hinderer investigator pens.

Misplaced a spidie "R" for a couple days but found it. Put it in a shelf I never do because it was time for a quicky!

This has been discussed here before. Yup, lost one in Arizona but it was a S&W spring assist and I wasn't completely devastated.

I lost an oj Simpson special. Found it in a coat pocket sorting through crap to donate.
