Lost Mountain Ironworks sheath update

I just got the email for shipping and paypal confirmation. Hopefully my sheath is waiting for me when I get home. My tactical cardboard has about had it.

Post up somce pics when they get there... and if you can, weigh it for me. I've been trying to lighten up my gear some, and I'd hate to add a lot of weight in the form of a sheath.

I can assure you this will weigh more than a kydex rig. It is designed to carry two altoid tins, paracord and a big knife. It has a kydex sheath with a cordura outer shell and big buckles. It should be bulletproof but it damn sure wont be light. You could look at it as a solo minimalist rig. If you leave the daybag home you will have some weight savings:)

I will throw it on the postage scale at work when it arrives.

I'm sure it will, since it has a kydex rig inside it. ;)

I'm just curious how heavy the fabric and whatnot is. I was kind of thinking just what you were saying... leaving the daypack home and just wearing that. Only issue is I'm not sure I want all of the weight on my belt.

I wear carhartt overalls every day so I never wear a belt. I plan on making a baldric sling out of webbing for mine. I carry my fire radio like this all day. It just has an extra little six inch piece of leather with a clip that attaches on a belt loop or edge of waist to keep it from sliding around. It works great.

The Footlong (with the liner, retention device, and clevis pin) weighs in at 15.4 ounces. The J. Holmes just a bit more. Hope this helps. Light? No. Built to take it? You bet!

What are the chances of a teaser photo or 2?

I am very interested to see the Chicago screw replacement.

Forager, we still have mad love for you. sewing as fast as I can!!!! I tried to post some pictures but I couldn't figure how to do it on my
phone. As soon as I get home from the shop,I'll try again. Working late, sorry we couldn't send everyone the email but we are getting closer. The kids think the shop is their
new home. Thank goodness for netflix and video games! Y'all have a great night!

Thanks for the info. Definitely not light... but the weight certainly wouldn't be an issue for me if it were replacing my backpack.
