Lost my blue M390 Para 2

I didn’t say you weren’t listening and you can have all the opinions you want. When you said “ I heard him say “when I make custom knives with k390" so that leads me to believe he has a reason to upsell the K390.”, you made a respected knife maker, tester, and contributor to the forum sound like a used car salesman trying to upsell suede floor mats. Is he promoting, his business? Yes. Is he up selling? No, he’s educating. He doesn’t take knife orders from anyone.

Never said he was selling junk, never said K390 wasn't a great steel. Never said he wasn't right. In fact I believe if you read the full thread, when asked I said I didn't know as I have never owned it. And I was looking to pick one up to find out. And I siad that he made it sound like M4 was butter compared to K390 and was having a hard time swallowing the hype. But Respect to the knife maker. I totally get what your saying and as you call my attention that way. Like I said I love me some tool steel. I think in some cases it even better then super steel. So I would like to go on the record an apology for poor wording. As I'm sure the knife maker was also not trying to trash M4 he was giving his opinion on K390 and his feeling that it was much better then M4 for making knives in "his opinion". And I'll do one better. I'll apologize to the O.P. for sending his thread about a knife he lost sideways.

If you like M4, you'll like K390 better.

It was never really available to the public in a production knife until 2017 in the P4.

K390 costs more than M4 and is less available.

It's pretty exciting we can just buy a Para 2 in this steel now no big deal.

I think I was taken out of context.
I didn't no offense. I watched your video a took your comments the wrong way. I also made comments in the wrong way. I hope you will except my apology. For what it's worth I wasn't saying you were wrong. I was saying I had a hard time swallowing the hype. I have done alot of reading. And I did also say I wanted to get ahold of a k390. I like me some tool steel. At some point I'll get me a k390. böhler makes some great steel.

M4 is still by favorite steel. I have 3 knives in K390 and a 4th on the way. It’s growing on me. I have become proficient at sharpening M4, so it sits well with me for now. Rex45 is performing at a high level as well.

I live in Miami close to the coast. The worst corrosion I get on M4, K390, 52100 and rex-45 is black spots. I do however wipe them down with eezox pretty often.

I'm loving K390 so far. It does well with cardboard. And this weekend I was cutting thick plastic zip ties. I didn't notice much if any edge deformation.
 
Long story but i lost my small sebenza, trimming brush and i thought it was gone forever.
I went back to the area many times . But about eleven months later in the same area . I saw a reflection of something shiny. Bingo . There it was laying against a stump . It had weathered a minus 20 winter.
Half full of mud . A good cleaning put it back in shape. Now i cary it much more secure.
I had other knives but this little knife was a 60th bday gift. Hope it still shows up .
Maybe a new one will ease the pain .

Are the first ones somehow better than the ones that are for sale new right now? The website shows them in stock for $189. Regardless, I’m not going to buy another one. I already have several Para 2’s that I can replace it with.

Besides, as soon as I buy a new one the old one will show up :)

Nope . Blue and m390 is blue and m390. And I totally agree. If you have others use them. As soon as yours realizes you can live without it. It will climb out of some pocket in a rain coat or drop from the tacko box so you will put it back in your pocket. Knives always know and never want you to use other knives.lol
 
Love my black and blue pm2... I'd be devastated if I lost it. I do carry and use it, but tend to use my S30v pm2 more simply because it would be easier to replace!

My Beretta Loveless Hunter spent about five years buried in my garden (long story) before I tilled it up one spring. The tiller did far more damage than the years of exposure, but it’s still usable. I have a photo somewhere...
