Lost my Charlow yesterday...UPDATE, Thanks Parke1!!

Sorry to hear about losing your Charlow, losing a "production" knife is bad enough but losing what many would consider a "grail" is even worse. I lost my yellow CV sodbuster that my wife got me right before my son was born and to this day it still bums me out. I carried it for three years straight and lost it when my mother-in-law got her car stuck in the snow just down the road from our house. To this day when I'm out walking my dog in that area I still scan the ditches for it, hopeful that it will show up. And for whatever reason I have never been able to bring myself to get another one because it won't be the same in my mind as the one that I lost. It may be just a knife but there are memories that are attached to them that contribute to how much we enjoy them.

Dare I say that due to the nature in which you will receive this new Charlow it will mean more to you than the one you lost. It's fantastic how everyone steps up to help a fellow member out.

I checked back in to this thread with the hope of seeing that your knife turned back up. What I found was an even more incredible outcome. Great people here.

Well, this place and it's members never continue to amaze me. Dan (Parke1) sent me this brand new, in the tube Charlow. I received it yesterday afternoon with a very nice note inside. Fit and finish is excellent, color and jigging of the bone is gorgeous and the spring is totally flush in open and closed position. I don't really know what else to say to Dan other than "THANK YOU!!!" :)

Very generous Dan. That's a nice one FH, be sure to look after it! ;)

But, it's not sawcut like your original. Send it back. :p

Seriously though, Dan is handing out knives like he's not going to see tomorrow. I'm starting to worry about him. This was a very kind gesture, Dan. So was the giving of a soddie in another thread along with the two that you just handed out in your giveaway. Big kudos to you.

Flint, you're quite welcome. As I said before, you tragically lost your Charlow while playing with your sons, so I'm glad I could help restore a good dad's Charlow owning status! :)

Jack and Jon, thank you both for the kind words.

Cory, don't worry about me, I plan on seeing many more tomorrows. I've been the recipient of some very kind acts here from Paul Hilborn, Charlie, Jon (Thieveslikeus), Invoice, and others. I'm happy to pay it back a little when I can. No one is laying a finger on my long pull spearpoint TC's, though!! :D

What a BEAUTIFUL TC Barlow Flint:thumbup:

What a generous kind act Dan, I know KARMA is headed your way my friend---you deserve it:)

LOL! I could see that post coming before I even read it my friend! :D

That's a really nice thing to do for a fellow forum member! I want to thank you, Parke1, for showing what a great part of the Internet this is!

Aww shucks, Primble, I'm sorry. I don't have any ebony handled TC's. Maybe you should send me your collection, though, for safe keeping. It sounds like you're a tad accident prone. I'd hate to see some of those old Primbles or Schrades or GEC's choke some poor, innocent fishies! ;)

That's funny! Good on you Dan. I know Flint Hills will cherish it for a lifetime.

I have to say that all of you kind fellows make me smile more than you know. All the kindness as shown above, fishy stories :), just everything. I wish I could help out like all you do but my wife and I spend a good chunk of our income every year to help homeless and abandon animals. It's very important to us. Anyway, I thank you all.
Bob

The generosity on this traditional forum never ceases to amaze me. Lots of good people here. And some nice jokes..:D
One happy end to this thread.

Sorry for your loss, Flint.

But it is such a great place here and the kind people all around are plain amazing. I love this kind of threads. :)

Thanks for sharing. Congratz, Flint! Great act, Dan.

Wow this forum is full of great people! This is the reason I decided to join! It's an all around good community with kind people!
