If you like Kershaw, you should definitely check out their new models. They've come up with a lot of new and very interesting stuff at very reasonable prices.
I should also say, with regards to previous recommendations for the Leek, that most people consider the Leek more of a fine slicer rather than a military/tactical knife. Rock6's post was a pretty good basic rundown for blade types, and the utility/penetration tradeoff; I personally like the spearpoint and drop-point blades, because they're good all around.
Don't write off manual openings either; if you like flippers, Kershaw has a lot of new ones that flip open easy, manual, and the wave feature is lightning fast.
Here's some basic steel info. You'll probably want to skip straight to "stainless".
