Lost my Spec Bump

I feel your pain, Bro. I lost this Browning when I was about 17-18.
I did find it a couple of years latter in a box. You know the type of
box, the one you put something in and tell yourself " I'll remember
where I put it". ;) Man, I was so happy to have found it. Nothing like
that first knife your dad gave you. I think I was around 11-12 when
he gave it to me.

Please forgive the momentary change of subject, but that Browning is a fantastic looking knife!

Ray :)

First, please provide specific numbers (longitude/lattitude) of the presumed location in question. I'll get there from Ukraine to look around. As to my sad experience, I am puzzeled by sudden disappearance of my Katz Avenger (though it's a piece of crap - the tang runs half the length of the handle) inside my apartment. And in another instance I lost Byrd Meadowlark in a cafe. And I heard the fall. Just didn't pay attention. Not much of a loss in terms of money, but I liked that knife.

Thanks Ray. :)

That Browning is what started my knife addiction.
I was watching my dad sharpen it one night and after he had it where
he wanted it, I asked " can I see it." Dad handed it to me and after I
drooled all over it, I started to hand it back and he asked if I like it.
I was like, YEAH!! He said "Then keep it." I was like    :D

Things like that stick with you for life. I can remember it like it happened
yesterday. :)

I've had my Spec Bump for 3 days and can already see how it could fall out of a pocket. The pants I wore yesterday positioned the knife to were the butt would press against my thigh in a seated position. After setting for a while noticed the knife starting to creep up out of my pocket. After much moving and shifting I could see how it could possible work it's way all the way out. I'll have to watch that for sure, because I really like this knife.

Here's a suggestion: Take the clip off and tie a lanyard/fob on it. If you make the lanyard/fob the right length, the knot part will hang out of your pocket. The Bump stays safely in your pocket, and a quick pull on the knot retrieves the knife from your pocket.

sorry to hear about your loss, friend. I've lost a few, abuck a sak and a nice stag sheath knife from Germany come to mind. I've also had three buck 110s break on me when in the woods. That is a sickening feeling. Especially if you don't have a backup! ( I don't carry bucks anymore)
