Never been a big fan of making time to sit down and watch commercials, er I mean TV shows but I do enjoy the occassional mini series. Really got into Lost and The Sarah Connon Chronicals most recently, but now its time to branch out and find some new mind-numbing entertainment so I am asking you guys (and gals) for a few suggestions on other, similar mini-series type shows that may be worth getting into. They don't necessarily have to be currently running as I have no problem picking up a season dvd or two.

Eureka, from SyFy. The first two and a half seasons are out on DVD, and although they are straining a bit by the third, I get a real kick out of the first two seasons.

Surface, Highlander.

Edit: It's few years old, but how about American Gothic?

I would check out Deadwood and Rome. Not science fiction but my wife and I both really liked them.

It's been mentioned, but I'll say it again. Firefly. Get Serenity too.

NCIS has its good and bad episodes, but is generally worth watching.

Fringe has been entertaining, the few episodes I've seen.

I 2nd most of the suggestions above: Dexter, Band of Brothers, NCIS (NOT LA version), Burn Notice, Highlander, Criminal Minds, Eureka. Numbers

I like Dollhouse quite a bit. That one's getting the axe too.

"Jericho" was great- survival in post-nuclear-war America. Also canceled before its time.

Babylon 5, best science fiction ever. Seasons 1 and 5 were disappointing, but you don't need 1 if you know the story, and you don't need 5 at all!

Fringe...It's only in it's 2nd season so you can catch up quick.

NCIS

Criminal Minds

Deadwood (HBO series no longer on) is must see if you don't mind constant hard core cursing.

Jericho was also good, but canceled

These are my main TV viewing lately.

Wow, so many great options- thanks for the suggestions! Definately gonna check out a couple (and maybe, one day, pay for HBO and not seasons ;) )
