ZOMBIE IS GONE - PLEASE STAY AWAY
I have recently learned that my Zombie is seeking brains across the nation, and as a compassionate and just keeper I have decided to set it to wander where its spirit and grey heart may lead it.
This is 1 of 4 Light Choppers that Nathan and team stonewashed, swedged, and did other crazy stuff with... It is the last of the retired D3V Light Choppers.
I will say that this knife has been used, and maybe even abused a little. I have cut with it, batoned with it, used it on a mountain and in a stream. It has seen sun and seen snow. Because of this, there are marks to the stonewash that show this history and its character. There is also a chip missing from the swedge/spine area where I hit it with a hammer through dried oak. It is not a sharp chip, and there are no cracks or functional damage to the blade. You will also notice some black oxide from the screws are graying from exposure. D3V, particularly this blade, is tough as nails.
There is no rust or pitting or material damage to the blade other than noted above.
The handles, of which there are two sets, include the original buffed canvas micarta, as well as a very rich set of antique micarta scales. Although the color is maroon-like in these photos, it has quite a bit of character in the right light where the grain and natural patina of the material shines through.
This micarta is "the good stuff."
The knife comes with a kydex sheath and a circular metal dangler from the maker. The sheath is also used, but entirely functional and 98% cosmetically sound (the oxide on the metal dangler is worn in a 1mm or so space).
The edge is just above 18 degrees per side and has no chips, rolls, or burrs, sharpened by me to around 800 - 1000 grit for a nice working edge.
Here it is with the buffed micarta:
Here it is today:
Here is one rub to the stonewash:
Chip from beating on the swedge (the material around it is fine)
Context:
Antique micarta in dark lighting:
Better lighting:
Sold - Thank you
