I find it difficult to treat thieves with respect. Press the case; insist that they prosecute the guilty party; get a refund from your insurance.
Why is it that we only seem to have the expensive knives get stolen? Does the P.O. personnel X-ray these packages so that they can identify which ones are worthy of theft...by their X-ray profile? Or are they pointed to expensive knives due to their high insurance stickers? Perhaps the cheap ones that go missing are just not reported.
I have sent out and received several hundred USPS small flat rate boxes over the last five yrs or so, and have never had one get lost.
Perhaps I'm just lucky, or maybe I deal in cheap knives...
