Lost the toolbar when posting to threads

I just noticed when I type a response in a thread the toolbar is no longer available with font size, type, emoji, etc. Anyone know what happened? Did I turn it off somehow by mistake? Not sure what I did, or didn't do but I'll be damned if I can figure it out. Here's a screen shot of what I mean when I'm typing.

I only lose that when I turn off the Rich Text Editor; but there is a prompt at the bottom of the text window (Use Rich Text Editor) to bring it back if I want it.
I'm on a Samsung... no idea what happens in Apple world.
