This thread is closed now. I am moving these and a bunch of others to our webstore. Have to get it re-stocked for 2011.

Lately I have been contacted by a lot of folder makers. So these are some scales I cut special for you guys. I think it's some pretty good stuff. I hope you guys like it. After the 2nd I will be closing this thread and adding a special section to my webstore with lots of scales cut special for the folder makers. These scales were cut to equal size on a bandsaw, then they were run through a drumsander at 36 grit to insure same thickness, fronts of the scales were then sanded to 220 grit on a belt grinder. They will look much nicer when fine sanded and polished. The scales that are listed as stabilized were professionally stabilized by K&G (Knife & Gun Finishing Supply in Arizona)

All of these scales come with a no questions asked money back guarantee.
US Shipping is free. International Shipping is $12 total, no matter how many sets of scales you get.

When you decide which items in this thread you want, just post "I'll take #s...." and I will mark them sold for you.

These are Stabilized Black Palm that was cut at a diagonal to expose the end grain. Even though they are stabilized any end grain wood will be more brittle than normal cut wood. If you flex these scales they will break. Use them with the same care you would use with pearl or mammoth tooth.

These scales are natural (not stabilized) African Blackwood. They are a good alternative to Ebony. Easy to work and much less prone to the cracking and shrinkage that happens with ebony. When finished the wood looks black but if the light hits it just right it will show off shimmering areas of bronze colored flash.

These are Arizona Desert Ironwood. It is not the really fancy stuff but it does have a nice metallic flash and the colors change at different angles with some of the brown turning red and the gold to orange. Nice wood. Natural, not stabilized.

These last 2 are Stabilized Fiddleback Koa. Way, way nicer in person. These reflect the light with a very intense flash and the stripes change from light to dark as you move the piece around. These had been held for someone for a month on a deal that never came through. Otherwise they would have been gone a long time ago.
