As many shopping here know, I am about a year into collecting Traditionals, so if you have any questions I haven't pro-actively answered please ask via PM or email. Plus, forgive me if for some reasons my pull ratings aren't aligned with yours, I have strong paws.
The little lady is getting very close to getting one of those round things with diamonds on it, so it's time to liquidate a bit of my rabid purchases...but first, some rules to level the table.
I have the right to not sell for any reason.
U.S. lower 48 shipping only. All knives over $60 will ship Priority Mail Delivery Confirmation included in the price below.
Any knife under $60 will ship First Class with tracking.
All prices are net to me (F&F or you pay the fees +3%). Deduct $6 for each additional knife you buy.
I am not currently accepting lower offers unless you buy 3+ knives. No trades unless you have something you KNOW I will want.
First to say I WILL TAKE IT, followed by a PM or email gets rights.
Assume everything comes with original packaging unless listed otherwise. Also, they have been professionally sharpened to some degree (typically just a leather strop) unless they showed up dull, then I use my belt grinder and paper wheel....I don't believe in dull knives but I don't mangle them either.
I am very busy with work but can ship by Friday afternoon. Otherwise it will be next Wednesday....don't say I didn't warn you. Assume I have the original packaging unless I list otherwise.
Deal - Buy any THREE knives and I will toss in your choice of the brand new pocket slips in the last pic, or that used Opinel #7. Otherwise they are not for sale.
Case Tiny Trapper Ultraviolet Smooth Bone - $35 - Brand New. Pulls are around a 4-5. Unused, carried once. Cool small knife, just not my speed. No box.
Case G-10 Peanut SS - $OLD and SHIPPED - Light user. Great knife but I've moved towards single spring small knives. Carried 20-25 times. Opened a few letters, sliced an apple once. Sharp, no dings. Main is a 6-7 pull, pen is a 7.
GEC Tidioute 22 Magnum Smooth Buckhorn Bone - $70 - LNIT - Carried a couple times, took it through the spa treatment to get it sharp and shiny (it had been trapped in that tube a while). It's better than new. Both blades are a 6-7. Great little knife; much tougher feel than a Peanut. This sells for over $85 shipped.
Queen Senator Mother of Pearl - $90 - Light user. This is a stellar example of MoP that has been opened and closed often to smooth out the action, professionally sharpened, but never used for anything. No box.
Case Blue Gent's Swayback - $70 - BNIB catch and release from Primble. Very nice color, sharp blades, the tip was a tad round from the factory but you can "sharpen into it". Shield is well attached. W&T is nice, 5-6 pull. I paid almost $80.
Northwoods Norfolk - $140 - BNIP - includes Northwoods Mainstreet pocket slip
Shun Nigo Hokami Gentleman's Steak knife - $90 - BNIB comes with Display case and nice leather pocket sheath
GEC Tidioute #15 KSF SFO Sheepsfoot Green Camel Bone - $OLD and SHIPPED - BNIT w Button, yet professionally stropped to a razor's edge - Great W&T, nice dark color on the scales (more blue than green). This is a dandy, I just have a PILE of 15s. Flush open and closed, a tiny tad proud in the half-stop, but I am very critical about flush fits. A solid 6 pull.
GEC Tidioute #15 Rust Red Sheepsfoot - $OLD and Shipped - BNIT - Same description as the knife above. This one has a couple of super small marks on the blade (you have to be up close), and a tiny ding on the bolster, from the factory. Tube and pin. Paid over $85 originally.
GEC Tidioute #15 Sheepsfoot and Pen Antique Yellow Bone - $80 - Light user. Same F&F as the last two, this one has a tiny scuff on the rear mark bolster and the faintest of patinas from cutting an apple or two (but I wiped the blades each time, it's minimal). No tube or pin (that I can find yet). Paid $88 I believe.
GEC Tidioute #92 Talon Wharnecliffe Green Micarta - $OLD and SHIPPED - BNIT but modified. The kick and spine were adjusted (by your's truly) to a much slimmer closed profile, at the price of a bit shallow closed and opened spring fit, while the half-stop is rather proud. The blade has microscope-level pitting on the mark side, a tiny patch. Fair 6 pull.
GEC Northfield #48 Dogleg Trapper Wharnecliffe and Muskrat blades in Goldenrod - $85 - Used. Super sweet knife, great user, and VERY sharp. Has a nice working patina and a tiny pit or two, but nothing is excessive. If I were to only carry a single knife, this would be it. Nice 6 pulls on both.
GEC Tidioute #89 Melon Whittler Wharnecliffe Forest Moss 22 of 25 - $125 - BNIT - The secondary blades have snappy and audible W&T, the main blade is smooth without a half-stop...all 5-6 range. Great knife, just longer than I carry daily. It's a beauty that I will miss, but it deserves a better home. Tiny factory ding on the rear mark bolster.
GEC Northfield #99 Wallstreet Clip in Burnt Stag - $125 - BNIT - I like thin stag (see pics). This is a fine example, easy to open, and not a blemish that these eyes can find. This is another example of a "if I could only have one" knife. But for me, it crosses the line between my mordern large folder, and my smaller traditional EDC.
GEC Northfield #63 Mako Clip in Burnt Stag - $110 - Same as the above. Thin is in! But like the Melon Whittler it carries a hair long for my short frame. Beauty otherwise. Great W&T. Pull is 6-7.
And last but not least...
GEC Tidioute #65 Ben Hogan 1 of 1 Amber Jig Bone Prototype - $OLD and SHIPPED- I have the certificate signed by Christine Tucker. This is such a fine knife. If I would wear a belt sheath at the office, I would carry this one all the time. Sadly that isn't an option, so it sits collecting dust. It deserves a better home than I am giving it. Plus, while I am an avid GEC guy, I am sure there is a more serious collector that wants this one in their stable. If this one had a personal classified it would read "Beautiful, sharp, and lonely". W&T is great, pull is 6-7.
