Hey fellas - I took advantage of the 65F degree day and took my son, now a few days away from being 8 mos old, to a local spot we frequent. No knife work since I had my son on my back.

I'm fighting through one of the worst shin splints I've ever had so we walked for about an hour and went home.

My boy absolutely loves the trails and loves to watch the horses on the trail while I watch out for the horse doodie...

There wasn't much wildlife out today, but it was a great walk with my son. He was using my head as a drum during the walk. :D

All I had with me today was a SAK Ruksack.

Here's some pics

Not sure why - but I like this pic

Not sure what this is all about, but there wasn't enough of them to blaze an actual trail

I agree. Gotta get them interested befoe they learn of the lazy things they can do

Here's my setup for carrying my boy. It's a VERY comfotable pack that provides a lot of ventilation on my back and holds my son very securely. It's got quite a big amount of storage space as well. This is great pack and will do a formal writeup if anyone is actually interested.

I carried both of my kids in one of those. They really liked being able to see over my head.

Great pics, looks like lots of us got out for some fresh air. Hmm, that escape route ribbon is a new one on me. Looks interesting!

I'm not really sure what they were showing the way for. They were across one trail at an intersection about eye level.

I just noticed that my pictures look like crap. I had the darn camera on a different mode because I was playing around with it and forgot to change it back.

The pics aren't that bad bro. But the good news is, now you have to go back and get more pics!!

It was a beautiful day, too bad I was working most of it....

I'd be very interested since our second son is scheduled (C section) to be born on 5/18 and it'd be great to have some info on a product like this.

Will do - I'll get plenty of pics and post a review. Give me a couple of days.

Wow, well I like the look of the pics-they look old-fashioned to me. The road pic reminds me of the Robert Frost poem...

Ditto on wanting more info. I have a old kelty, but it was probably only $25 10 years ago. It's easier to piggyback than use what I have.

those are used to mark fall back routes for firefighters or SAR. As well, a lot of times (esp in BC's mountains) these are used to "guide" out lost skiers/hikers or as a fast alternate route for SAR teams from the mountain, trails with these typically lead out to main roads or muster points etc.

Maybe they are gearing up for a controlled burn. I did see a very little bit of a burnout area, but not much. That makes sense. Thanks for the info
