Lots of spyderco counterfeits on the bay

People selling clones should be blamed no question about that. But those who buy them really think with $20 you can get the real deal?:(

It is just my opinion, but I believe that most (more than 50%) of counterfeits purchased know they are purchasing a counterfeit. BTW, it's not really a "clone" as a clone is a dna replica, but the counterfeits use poor steel.

I wish this kind of stuff would stop. I hope as a Nation we can find a fix to this before it hurts the real makers of these products.

It costs Spyderco hundreds of thousands of dollars per year to deal with this BS. Many companies have been put out of business by Chinese counterfeits using their low Yuan value to take advantage of the world's manufacturers. It's a shame that both governments (USA & China) can't/won't do anything about it.

Is anyone not aware that counterfeits abound on ebay? Link still doesn't work for me.
Cap’n Smudge Cap’n Smudge good thread, the one person who could do something about it was notified. And once again Sal Glesser Sal Glesser has shown the respect to his customers with his feedback, the same respect that have made his knives so successful.
Some here could maybe take 77 seconds to listen more, and learn something

Odog27, old news, but worth keeping the problem in our thoughts, I can’t stand those thieves! Keep reporting them to bay and at least bug the heck out of them about it! Bay makes money if the product rips-off the legitimate owners of the design and buyers both, why should they care!

Lol, who'd a thunk it that there are counterfeits on eBay? 1000's of them. Swatting flies is great, but a never ending and usually no win situation. When you swat one, two more are there to replace it. Only eBay can stop the problem, but they just choose to ignore it. Add in the chinababa sites and it's pretty much a loosing battle. People who want legit Spyderco will buy one, people wanting a $20 counterfeit will buy one too, with no intention of ever buying a real one.
