  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

lots of stuff, lots of pics, lots of stuff to give away (WINNERS CHOSEN)(again)

Where's the balance on the 5 now, and how far off is it?

much more forward then it used to be. I slimmed the handle and shortened it expecting a nice forward balance. Its not bad its actually a comfortable handle, its just not the way i liked it originally. not sure why i took something i loved and changed it. pipe dreams i guess

"OK on too the new stuff"

And now on two the old stuff... I'm in, thanks clich. That outing looks fun, must've been a beautiful day

Now onto the free stuff. Here's the contest. Somewhere in this post is a typo. Find it, quote it, and leave a comment including "i'm in". Those that quote the correct sentence are included in drawing (hint: its a common mistake and not punctuation ). Everyone can play, but let's keep the shipping addresses within the US and Canada. There are a bunch of prizes, so i will do random post number drawings (only your "i'm in" post counts, so chat away). First winner wins choice of: MY SNAKESKIN ETCHED BK5 (someone with a little scale "know how" can remove the crappy ones I made and rehandle it nicely) (no sheath) , a set of TTW tweener wood scales, TTW bk11 wood scales, bk11 micarta, or 3 sets of stabilized wood to make your own scales. I will keep picking until everything has a new home. I'll let it run until tomorrow. Thanks for looking and playing.

Two instances of non-capitalized "I"s.

I'm in. :3

I fixed all the tiny little imperfections you all picked out. Some stuff I didnt think about, sorry. my fault. It is right now, only ONE typo

OK bear with me, I have a ton of stuff to show off, talk about, etc etc etc, so I wanted to make one thread. So, here is some new products, new etches, new family hike, also some new stuff to giveaway if you pay attention. Anyway, let's get this party started.

Subject-verb disagreement.

I'm in.

I'll just have "too" be a conformist and agree with the users above.
Okay, on too the new stuff.
I'm in.

By the way, what did you use to get the pattern in the patina on that BK5?

Edit: Oh you fixed it.

I guess it would be this one then
Okay, on too the new stuff.
Now onto the free stuff.
"Too" instead of "to" is a pretty common error.
I'm not sure about the second one, that might just be the difference between American and Canada/British english.

In US English, onto is the regular form, although it isn't yet fully accepted in British English. Nevertheless, it's important to keep a distinction between the preposition onto and the use of the adverb on followed by the preposition to (meaning ‘onward and toward’). For example:

√ Let’s move on to the next point.
X Let’s move onto the next point.

I'm in if it counts.

Aye. Thanks for the opportunity.

Blue, huh? So it's not really a patina...

Do you suppose Worcestershire/lemon/misc. will give a pattern like that if I apply it with a cotton ball?

its not a patina, its an etch. Its caused by soaking a carbon steel knife, coated in gun blue in a certain pattern, in bleach. It causes corrosion and a permanent etching in the blade. That "patina" is permanent, unless you take sandpaper and 10 hours "too" it.

I'm thinking steel liner with some file work at the pommel end to move the balance back might work nicely. I can see how the balance changing would really make you like the knife less though.

I'm in!
Thanks!

check the rules again

BTW this is gonna end when i wake up tomorrow. There have been enough edits and correct answers that no one should be wrong come morning. Remember to recheck your entry, things might have changed. Goodnight all and good luck.
