I pretty much agree with you. However, I only buy lottery tickets ($10 worth) if the jackpot is unusually large - it is just for the thrill and very slight possibility of winning. Realizing a person is far more likely to be struck by lightning than win a lottery like Mega Millions, I really do not think I will win, but it is still fun a couple times/year.
