Folks,

Tell me I'm not alone in really enjoying this knife. I have significantly more costly knives but this knife punches above its weight. I like the fact that the blade stock is thin enough for it it take a keen edge yet robust enough to tackle hefty tasks.

I've stripped the blade and convexed the edge and this is one heck of an all-rounder...

Cheers all,

Ben

I have a Junglas and an Izula 2, currently looking for a 5-6" blade for lighter weight, a sort of "do it all" knife. I've been trying to find something with Condor, BHK etc that competes with the ESEE 6, but honestly I'm having trouble finding anything and I'm thinking I'll be pulling the trigger on one myself. My Izula gets carry time here and there, but the Junglas has been worked hard and has made me love the company even more.

The 6 is an amazing knife but often more knife than I need. I always end up going back to my trusted 3 mil no matter what recent purchase I make. That little knife is just ment to be used by me I guess now if I could just get Jeff, Mike, and team to take out that silly choil I would never buy a new fixed blade.

I love the choil! Allows me to choke up and get a great feel of the blade while carving. I used the 6 heavy for the last 5 months, the thing never let's me down. I made countless bow drill, split wood, chopped although not a chopper but can do it in a pinch
I also will be stripping it, logos and all. I'm going to put a patina on it and I ordered a nice leather pouch style sheath from Skyler at patriot leather.

Esse 6 is such a great knife, i sold off most of my Bucks and other large Bowie style knives because for me they became obsolete! I will say keep it clean/no water because it gets surface rust quick. Easy enough to sharpen, and can be honed to shaving sharp. i just received the Izula II and it feels just like its little brother. Now out with the 110's, LB7 and even small Marbles, I like the ESSE's so much.

I agree- it's a great knife. Mine has TKC scales and feels great in hand.

Several years ago I was choosing between the 5 and 6. Went with the 5...too thick, wish I had gone with the 6...
