Love me my Ritters!

I love mine - The M390 version with DLC, and custom lightning strike CF scales by Phillip Dobson.
Dude, I love the scales & the knife but that's not M390. The Ritters haven't been produced in M390, yet. In fact, there's only been one limited edition run of M390 Mini-Griptilians & none of those had a black coating. What you've got there is a M4 Mini-Ritter with the DLC coating and a really sweet lookin' set of custom scales. Are the liners nested? I think I've seen a set like those done by Mr. Dobson before. But, on the ones I saw he didn't inset the liners into the scales. Are yours done in the same way?

Does one have to order the Wilkins scales from Wilkins in Germany, or is there a US seller?

My M4 Ritter Grip is one of my favourites. I had a stonewashed S30V one in orange for a time which I foolishly sold off. However, the orange scales werent quite orange enough for my tastes, more like tangerine. :p

I live in hope that they will do another sprint run, hopefully in M390 this time - one of my favourite steels!

I have kept the standard handles on, one of the things I really like about these knives is the light weight so I dont want to add any weight to it. I find the standard grips to be just fine but I might change my mind if I ever get to try the Wilkins.

Kevin Wilkins makes the scales in his shop in Germany.

Anyone in the US that has them, bought them from Germany. There isn't a US distributor.

I apologize Keyman - you are correct - it is M4 - I have had M390 on the brain lately.

The liners are NOT nested - and Mr. Ritter pointed that out to me.

The knife has been very sturdy in use though, but I understand it would be better to have it nested into the scales.

Thanks for the gentle correction!

Great pictures... I have had a soft spot for the Mini Grips for quite a few years, and the last one was edc'd and used hard for almost four years.

After retiring it, I decided I would sell it. I always had the desire to get another, and was going to get the Ritter MG, but when I was looking, they were out of stock. So, I did the next best thing and got one from the Benchmade custom order.

Satin finished S30V blade, green scales with silver fasteners, and a polished split arrow pocket clip. The only thing I wish it had, was the drop point blade, like the Ritters. I'm already looking at getting another, so this one will probably be a Ritter. Either that or another from the Custom Order with a D2 blade.

The Wilkins Grips really change the looks of the knife. Even though it dramatically increases the cost of a very reasonably priced knife, I would still rather do that, than buy some of the other makers knives that cost $400 and up

Mr. Dobson does excellent work, the M4 DLC with his handy work makes for a really rich looking knife. I think it's gorgeous. Congradulations! Very classy.

Ordered a WilkinsGRIP BMG mini, Smooth Black G10 Gripset yesterday. Kevin said it will ship by Wed. Can't wait to finally have a set! Looked like the Large X2 sets were out of stock in black and ranger green, but he has some other colors still.

Think this thread is pushing me to the edge. First it made me put down my para2 for a couple weeks and pick up my Ritter, now you guys have me eyeballing the black g10 and orange handles on his site. Might have to make the move at some point...this is a great knife and it must be smoking with a set of nice scales on it!

I understand and i'm surprised this one keeps popping up:)
Besides the 556, the Ritters were my only Benchmade knives until this day and i never wanted others!
I've had sprint run para2s, regular paras and other very nice Spydercos, a Strider, a Fantoni Hide folder, Bradley Alias II...

These are all the knives i own today

that's all i'm sayin':)

Btw, keep an eye of what's in stock! The orange ones aren't:(

They're nice to deal with, however, i'm not feeling it my friend sorry.
I prefer my Wilkins:)
I also had a Bradley Alias but decided to sell it and keep my Sebenza, if you know what i mean;)

Very nice collection! I have four Sebenzas, EDC a Mnandi, but just sent Kevin an e-mail about swimming pool G11 mini grips. Now the question is Benchmade or Ritter? :)
