I love the rescue models and have owned and carried most if not all of them at one time. Currently the two knives I am most likely to have with me are a waved rescue or an Atlantic Salt(rust proof rescue). So what I'd like to know is will we see updated rescues anytime in the near future, 4 position clips, liners and maybe even a g10 version alla delica and endura? I love the thin handles but would really like the added strength from liners, especially on a waved version.

I know Spyderco is busy putting out new and cool stuff but it seems like the rescue is a bit overdue for an upgrade, anything in the works?

Thanks
Sam

I was wondering if you could go into a little more about what you use the rescue knives for. I'm really, really interested in getting one...if I get a serrated blade I want it to be like the Spyderco Rescues (specifically the Atlantic Salt). Just wondering your impressions about how they perform for your tasks. I haven't found much about these knives around here and am highly curious. I prefer to get user reviews instead of technical reviews, if that makes sense.
Thanks.

As far as every day cutting chores in my life, boxes, threads, cord, fabricetc. the fully serrated edge is superb. The fact that it is a "rescue" knife without a scary point also makes its size a little less freaky to the general population. The waved rescue in vg10 is my offhand knife, deploys very quickly which is equally bennificial for slicing thru a seatbelt in an emergency or for "social rescue" though that is a very secndary consideration for me. The atlantic salt is just a great all around utiltiy knife that I don't have to worry about. I can wear it all day clipped into the waistband of a pair of shorts in 100 degree heat or fall out of my canoe with and its not an issue.
The blunt tip and serrations don't do everything well of course but that is just a good reason to carry a 2nd or third knife.
anyway, get yourself a rescue or rescue jr in vg10 and an atlantic salt, you'll be glad you did.

Thank you. That's exactly the kind of info I was looking for. I appreciate you taking the time.
