Loveless/Fowler Prototype

I like it, too. Only changes would be Brass and Stainless bolts and a tapered tang. The lanyard hole does need to be moved or removed, should be chamferred, too. I'm OK with the Brass fixtures on this knife, keeping it Fowleresque.

Cool knife

I don't mind the bolts

I like the lanyard hole ..... Sometimes it's very convenient to let the knife hang from your wrist while working on a critter

I like the shape of the blade

Wouldn't mine the handles being micarta ala loveless

Would like to see a tapered tang

Change out brass for bronze or stainless

You asked :)

I do dig it thou :)

In my original comments totally forgot to mention I think the tapered tang would be the bee's knees. I'm also a fan of micarta like Joe, and just generally prefer the look of stainless furniture.

I didn't comment on handle material but Micarta would be excellent. Of course, you could do Sheephorn, both Fowler and Loveless used that material.

Very nice knife Daniel. I think the brass bolts would have set er off like some have mentioned. I'm really liking the handle material too, I couldn't id it. I'd leave the lanyard in but drop it down as mentioned. Make it easier to get out of that pancake sheath I'm gonna build for this knife.

I think a HorseWright sheath on this model would be just the ticket!

Thanks for the comments Guys! There's quite a variance in opinion in just about everything! I'll definitely be making this design in some varying styles and stainless fitting will definitely be on several of them...

I hope to get started on three of this design this weekend.

you mentioned finding a name. how about love-ler or fowless. a combination of the names. loveler fowless :D

I'm not to crazy about Love-ler but I'm liking Fowless LOL!

I love that sheath Dave!

I was thinking it would be interesting to see this pattern come to life using the hidden tang construction method, and maybe take a cue from John Doyle and use G10 for the guard in order to save weight.

That would be pretty cool but then it would loose it's Loveless-ness...I still might have to give that a shot though...
