Here is what we all talk about, and wonder. The original NY Special, it sold in the beginning for $350.
And, we seldom get to see the snap. Steve Johnson does a great job of the NY Special, if you get the chance get Steve to make you one, but by all means put the snap in it.

The Steve Johnson version is surrounded by Ron Skaggs belt buckles.

The later Loveless design is just not a slick, and wicked as the original.

Great piece, I always liked the original snap models better than the non-snaps. Pretty rare piece.

The Holy Grail of Loveless Knives, most have never seen one and precious few will ever own one!
Thanks for sharing
Dave

It is more square so it stays flat.
THis was meant to go inside you dinner jacket.

John, I was not talking about the sheath itself but about the welt inside. I was just curious to know if Mr. Loveless made it to follow the contour of the blade or straight down, parallel to the sides of the sheath. Thanks.

John,
Would you say that your Loveless NY special w/ snap is the perfect union of form and function? My amateur eyes says it is.

That takes my breath away! Good lord my hands would tremble to hold it!

Very many thanks for sharing this piece of knifemaking history!

Eric
