Hi fellas, thanks for looking. I tried a different finish on this gorgeous set of walnut scales - polyurethane, and I'm pleased with how it turned out. Professional stabilizing and the oil finishes I've used before on this walnut tended to darken the background and obscure the color contrast and figure. Since they use this stuff for floors that you walk on, and it's waterproof, it should do the trick, don't you think?! This is the tightest figured Tiger Walnut I've ever encountered - it's called Royal Walnut, which is a hybrid cross between Claro and English Walnut. The wood was dried for five years, and is perfectly quartersawn, making one side the mirror of the other. Asking $250 plus $15 shipping insurance to my Paypal account tksteingass@frontier.com The first PM, email, or "I'll take it" gets it. My ship date won't be before 1/20 since I'll be out of town on business until that time. Maker's lifetime common sense warranty and free sharpening.
