Loveless Web Site

But you can see some of his knives on Knifelegends.com. Steve Johnson has a website, so does Mike Lovett. That is about as close as you are going to get.

Dave Ellis Exquisiteknives often has some rare birds
also check out knifetalkforums.com there is a Loveless page

The joke must be on me......

There are books, there are knives for sale, there are pictures of sold knives.

Bob Loveless is arguably the most famous knifemaker on the planet, and he is OLD. He doesn't have time for webmasters, photographers or just about anybody else. He does have time to work on knives, about barely.

Depending on the day, he is charming as all getout, or as crusty a curmudgeon as you can find.

He stopped taking orders about 15 years ago, so why on earth would he have a website? I don't even know if he owns a computer.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Uncalled for.

It's a perfectly legitimate question...

BTW, why do Ghandi and Albert Einstein have official websites?

(Answer: To give people information about their life and works...)

Uncalled for.

It is a perfectly legitimate question that got completely laughed at by many of us, as being totally silly.

If you don't like it, tough nuggies.

May I suggest collecting beanie babies or something.

OK Mr. 'Way of the Warrior.'

(just a suggestion -- you might want to tone down the tough guy routine, we're not impressed )

As has been stated, Bob Loveless has no time for, nor any interest in having a website.

I doubt very much that Albert Einstein or Ghandi would have had their own websites either.

Kinda makes you wonder if his non promotional way adds to the hype driving the price of his knives into the outter limits.

1. Correction -- "I am not impressed"

2. Ghandi and Albert Einstein do have official websites despite being more famous than Mr. Loveless, having less time, not owning computers, and being dead...

Anyway, Jerry Fisk has a website, Jimmy Lile has a website (IIRC they sell books about his life), I don't think Moran does... Some do, some don't...
Why is this such a stupid question?

Loveless might have no interest in a website, but dondford's question is still valid. How about a more 'welcomes' and less eye-rolling...?

1. Waco Kid-I'm not trying to impress anyone, some of us were just having a good laugh at someone else's expense. Not very mature, but still funny.

2. It is not a STUPID question, but it is a silly one, or better yet, one made of ignorance of/about Bob Loveless. It could happen to anyone. I hope that Lovett will chime in here with his take on the question.

3. There were some very good responses to the question.

4. Welcome to BladeForums, dondford, and Waco Kid, if you can get past the occasional smart-aleckery, you can learn a lot, and have some fun, too. WE hope you stick around. Mores the betterer.;)

I just re-read this thread.

I actually misread it the first time -- for some reason I thought it was a lot more insulting to the original poster.

Reading it now the whole 'uncalled for' thing does sound a little Beanie Baby-ish Lol. and sorry about the Warrior crack.

Let's put this thread to rest beside Ghandi...;) I only stumbled on it cause I was doing a search for Loveless... So, back to work.

oops... you posted while I was typing.

Like I said -- My fault.

I will stick around -- Like you said - LOTS of good info.

(BTW, thanks for beating me to the post. Now I look like a jerk twice over... lol)

Guys:
I'm a newbie to custom knives and knife collecting, but are trying to learn. That's precisely why I joined this forum.. to learn.

Some of the posts were helpful and thoughtful; some explained why Loveless does not have a website. Kohai999, several of your posts were quite helpful, thanks, but I was perplexed how a question could be "perfectly legitimate" yet "totally silly" Waco Kid, thanks for coming to my defense, sorry it caused you problems.

Some of the posts I found elitist. I have been a hunter, hand loader, shooter and whitewater paddler for over 40 years and are fairly knowledable in these subjects and are active in forums on these subjects. When a newbie joins one of these forums, most of us old timers are thrilled someone has discovered our loved past time and try to be patient and helpful. Occasionally a newbie will post a question we may privately find "silly" (uninformed), but most of us would never flame, or make light of the newbie in a public forum. Most of us have seen elitist attitudes of a few drive new people away of these past times we love; just the opposite of what we should want.

So, please be kind and patient; I just trying to learn. I've placed orders for almost $1000 worth of knives in the past week; my wife would claim I'm trying to learn too fast.
Peace
Don
